  By all accounts this video has gone viral on the internet ,generating much discussion as to the appropriateness or not, of this subject in a religous forum for the deaf people,which can also be veiwed by anybody else on the official website , jw.orb....deaf sign language....Gods way is Love.....scroll down to #22 and their you have it. Why did they do it in the first place.

  The bible in christendom is generally accepted as being 66 books in total in protestant circles , catholic , eastern orthodox , etc .have a few more that they may refer to.

  These writings are in general accepted as the inspired word of GOD given to his people over a period of some thousands of years .

  In all these inspired writings over thousands of years has their ever been anything specifily stated ,condemning masturbation as a sin or anything wrong about it .

  If the Almighty GOD didn`t see the need to comment on the subject who are the WTB&TS to make a video about it .

  And lets look at a few facts here:. A male will have at least 4 erections a night on average during his sleeping hours.

  Males from INFANCY get erections anytime during the day or night , and surprise,surprise, to some people it is not because they have impure thoughts , it is biological ,they have no control over it......As a male I can speak from experience ....I cant speak for a female

  Are you a mother ? haven`t you seen your male baby with an apparent erection ? or have you just buried your head in the sand ,no I didn`t see that.

  Now here is the curly one : The one where the people dont think the Queen goes to the toilet to shit . Heaven forbid she`s the Queen

  Jesus came to earth as a man ,well a baby at first ,and he grew up to be an adult human being ,executed at 33 years of age.

  Ok so now lets look at the facts ,Jesus was a human baby ,he would have had erections , he became a teenager ,he went through puberty he would have had erections ,he became a man

  he would have had at least 4 erections a night, did he masturbate ? the bible doesn`t say . Does the bible say that anybody who masturbated was OK ?/Wrong? no,I can understand religionists putting their hands up in protest in my saying about jesus but you have to face facts ,if jesus was a real person born of a virgin and become a real human being he would have had to go the same experiences as our children,our sons and daughters,and he would have had the same imperfections ,otherwise he was a fraud .

  No he wasn't. He was half man, half god. Wimmin don't count, so being half god meant he was perfect. Gods don't procreate sexually, so Jesus had no need to crack a fat at any time of night.

  Othodox theology is that Jesus was fully God and fully man, not half anything.

  Of course mythos is full of demi gods (half man half god)... Jesus is in that type. A male god impregnanting a female human. The bible itself gives another example in noahs day when the angles impregnanted human females.

  I think the controversy isn't so much about the video for the deaf, but just that it wakes us up visually to the fact that these old farts in Brooklyn are pontificating on private sexual practices in the name of their god. We may yawn at the word "masturbation" in a religious article, but when we see someone acting it out, we clearly see what they're up to, and are more inclined to holler: "Hold on there, a minute; why are you laying guilt trips on people for being human?! Why are you even going there? Are you sex therapists now, as well as experts in everything else you pontificate upon?"

  It is said that 95% of us masturbate, and the rest are liars. I think we all know where the GB falls in the percentiles.

  Is it news to some that major religions have deemed it not only appropriate, but required by God to dictate appropriate sexual behavior to their followers? Really?! REALLY?!? Not heard that?

  So, no one's also never heard the term "missionary position" before, and wondered perhaps why it has that name?

  We had a future Prime Minister who said, "The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation."

  Perhaps we are witnessing a societal shift where religious organizations have no business in the bedroom either.

  The glory of ASL is its directness. Perhaps seeing what we've been swallowing (no pun intended) has served to prove how ludicrous it is.

  When I was a teenager in the 1960's the WT or Awake rarely ever tackled the subject of, as they used to call it......... 'SELF ABUSE'.

  I couldn't wait to read these articles as they were as rare as hen's teeth & I hoped they were an answer to my prayers to old J that he help me stop masturbating.

  When these articles were written I recall they seemed to try to build the 'SELF ABUSER' up a little by admitting they hadn't committed the 'unforgiveable sin' but then emphasized the DISGUSTING nature of the sin of 'SELF ABUSE', how it displeased 'our heavenly father' & the harm you are doing to yourself. These articles just left you feeling wretched. I was sure I was like 'Achan' preventing his holy spirit operating on the congregation becaused of my 'secret sin' & that sooner or later I would be found out.......one of the favourite OT examples of the Borg.

  I felt wretched through my teen years because of this ridiculous cults view on masturbation so when I was 15 I sought the help of the congregation overseer. It took a LOT of courage to talk to him. Nothing really happened, he promised to get me more information from the society but he didn't.

  Some 40 years on & looking back at this & other occasions when I have spoken to elders none of them really saw masturbation in the same light as the twits at the top of the Borg. These elders probably still were relieving themselves in this way & me coming to them full of remorse mean't they couldn't handle it the way the Borg led me to believe they would.

  Anyway, just my experience over the years.......................

  You have missed the entire point of people's complaints. It was never about whether the WTS should make a video about masturbation. Or that they made one in sign language. Or even that the signs used in the video are correct sign language terms.

  The problem is how graphic it is. There are ways to translate this video to tone down the facial and body expression and still get the message across. The fact that the WTS did not use a less graphic way to sign male and female masturbation seems strange since it leaves almost nothing to the imagination. They had to know that someone would find the video on their website and run wild with it.

  I suspect that since they have so quickly demanded You Tube and other websites to remove copyrighted material from their sites and they seem to be taking their time with this one is that they really don't quite know what to do. The video is shows the correct usage of ASL.But if they make a fuss about it then it is sure to makes matters worse in regards to people making fun of them.

  While people are laughing at the translations, the thing that is really funny is that the sexually repressive WTS first made the video and second posted it on their website and third such graphic representation would most likely encourage people to try it after seeing the video.
