"The Thinkingest People On The Planet"...

So they are the "thinkingest" people, but they do not do independent thinking. How is that any different from parroting? Where did the Watchtower get their doctrine of opposing independent thinking? They did not always teach that. They lifted that doctrine from none other than Babylon the Great! TM

"Fear has a great hold on the people. People are afraid of what their neighbors, their friends, relatives and clergy might think if they were even so much as to read the Bible on their own. For centuries the clergy have dominated their lives, told them what they can read, what they should believe and do. To ask a sound religious question is a demonstration of lack of faith in God and the church, according to the clergy. As a result, the Irish people do very little independent thinking. They are victims of the clergy and fear; but freedom is in sight." (The Watchtower, August 1, 1958, p. 460).

Great job bro! Dig your vids of Anthony!

Where did he learn to reason like that, university...?

Think you should include Gerrit Losch in your little celebrating of our leaders!

    Love from your brother, Healthworker

Hm, even on my worst "off days" on the platform I doubt I was ever capable of mustering a word like "thinkingest", but maybe an off day for Anthony is worse than an off day for the rest of us!!

Who knows? I've heard some doozies at the KH but speakers at the assemblies tend to be more careful.

The talk was given at a Special Assembly Day in 2010/2011, and I'm led to believe the location was Pennsylvania.

Happen to know which talk? Was it "The World Is a Dangerous Environment for Christians"?

Btw, the lady singing the song at the beginning sounds like a chilled out Ethel Merman (that shows my age LOL).

The theme was "Our Spiritual Paradise - Jehovah's Provision For Refuge" - the final item on the program.

This is the same talk recording that I used for the Vietnam and Politics videos. I used some of this talk for the Higher Education video too.

The person who gave me the recording mentioned that everyone in the congregation was talking about Morris' items afterwards. It's not hard to figure out why!

Thanks, cedars. I was looking at the CA program instead of the SAD. Duh.

I wouldn't mind hearing the whole thing. I think I'd need a stiff drink or two beforehand but I'm just curious enough to see how his head functions ... or not, as the case may be.

No worries AnnOMaly - email at [email protected] and I'll reply with the mp3 file - assuming it goes through!

And yes, you'll need a stiff drink or two. Mind you, I find Anthony easier to listen to than other GB members. Atleast you're guaranteed some excitement. I was listening to Gerrit Losch yesterday and I swear he could go into business selling CDs to cure insomnia - his speech is so dull and monotone.

Exactly. The WTBTS has become more Catholic than the Catholics!
