My husband was an elder for the 20 years we were married. He told me ZERO!!!! Less than zero. Even things that were not confidential, he would always make sure that I heard them elsewhere.
If he could have had me take a vow of silence and wear a hijab he would have. I was after all a woman.

There was a congregation near Seattle that was disbanded because the wives had to much influence over thier elder husbands -

I never divulged anything about judicial (I hate that word now) stuff or private counsel but I would offload about petty squabbles on the body of elders like one time when the service overseer tried to ban the congregation offering any literature other than what was in the kingdom ministry for that month.
Or the power tripping Presiding Overseer argued with the School Overseer about whether teenagers could give talks in their school blazers or not. (In the UK some schools have their pupils wear a school blazer/jacket with a school crest/logo/badge sewn on the pocket.) Some poorer families - it was the only jacket their kids would have and the PO said it was disrespectful and the School Overseer told him to stop making rules.
I told her those squabbles before pouring myself a stiff one.

I was an elder for well over a decade. I very rarely told my wife anything & even if I did , nothing of any substance. ( To be honest , she really wasn't interested anyway & much of what elders do is just really boring procedural stuff. ) Occasionally I thought it best to give her some inside information if I thought it was important ( for example we did have a rather creepy guy move into our congregation who came with a rather cautious letter of introduction & I did tell her never to have him alone with our children if they were out on the ministry mid-week ).
There were a couple of elders in our body whom I didn't trust as far as confidentiality was concerned. As far as the influence of elder's wives was concerned - there certainly are some quite prominent "elderette" types in most congregations who push the agenda in the background. Their views on prospective appointments , for example , could influence their husbands either in favour or against recommendations.
