My mother, when being shunned or generally mistreated by my JW brothers (her sons) after leaving the Organization, showed them this quote. When they found out that she'd gotten the quote online, they said it was obviously from an apostate site.

Here's another questionable part of that statement by the Society.

Members can be expelled for serious unchristian conduct...

We had a district overseer stand in front of the whole circuit and say that nobody is disfellowshipped for their ACTIONS. Rather, it is for the ATTITUDE they display.

So if you come into a judicial committee meeting, and the elders judge there to be a deficiency in your ATTITUDE, even if your conduct didn't cross over into the disfellowshipping realm, you WILL BE DISFELLOWSHIPPED. Am I right? (I have seen this happen -- and I don't think I saw a rare case.)

Gopher, you are not right. The point is, that if one's attitude is that of repenting, there will be no disfellowshipping. If the attitude is not one of repenting, there will be disfellowshipping. I am here not discussing disfellowshipping in general, what someone has or has not done somewhere etc., but stating what the person you quote was saying, and that what he said is in accordance with the teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses.
