I'm glad I never gave them a copy---that's dangerous. Can you imagine if something happened to me and they caught wind of it and showed up with that evil document signed by me? As it is, I'm always careful to announce that I am no longer a JW and will accept blood in case there is some old copy in my files somewhere.

You know, maybe this is their way of trying to find secret apostates. None of us would be willing to give them a photocopy---we don't die for apostasy---and refusing to give it would probably lead to shepherding calls and loyalty questions.

I wonder if they want a copy of 'your decision' as proof in case a family member dies so that they can produce it as evidence in court. We know how underhanded and slippery these b**tards are, so it would't surprise me if this was the real motivation behind it. (can you tell I would never trust them again) Leslie

Leslie, do you mean to present as evidence in a law suit from the family against the WT if a JW refuses a blood transfusion and dies?

This is a HIPPA violation, It is a medical record. Watchtower realy needs to get of the medical consulting business.

Oops, I tore mine to pieces a few days ago and put it in its rightful place- the trash can! I love how much lighter my wallet feels now.

We often forgot to get ours signed, so were walking around with out of date ones, that is if we even bothered to carry one.

We certainly never gave a copy to anyone. We filled in the big directive thingy about twenty or so years ago that we handed to our family doctor, we never filled in the later personal one that was held at home and a copy by the Sec.

We never did the cards for the kids.

I guess we were not too keen on the blood thing, we were not typical JW's either, I guess. I think, if I am honest, this lack of getting that done was part of a pattern of procrastination that has always pervaded our lives, or to put it more simply----- laziness.

They don't. in my experience chase these issues, unless you have a super-efficient secretary like we had for a time, he was a Nazi with regard to record keeping, though a thoroughly nice guy, and kept reminding us at the Group Study that we needed to do it, we still put it off.

They cannot make you do anything, unless you give in to fear of some kind, just ignore the stupid stuff if you have to stay in, nothing happens, except you are looked upon as one who is "spiritually weak" to some measure, but who cares what they think in their Culty way ?
