I totally understand your frustration with the flame wars, and the seemingly endless line of retorts to insults directed at a poster.

However, I respectfully point out that you might feel a little differently when it is directed at you. Skally has a good point. Farkel betrayed her confidences here on the board. Why would she ask him anything else in a private email when he's the one who brought it to the board?

And as Larc so playfully pointed out emails are not private either.

Because hopefully I would have enough dignity to NOT fight publicly? I don't know. I don't look at it as "What does the other person deserve?" but more like "What do I deserve?" I believe my character deserves the right to show honor and dignity no matter what someone else does to me.

I guess in this situation, I just don't understand the need to KEEP it public once it's been MADE public. And hopefully with a desire to deal with private things privately, the person who "wronged" you can realize how WRONG they were. If they don't realize that they weren't a friend to begin with. You mourn, count your losses, find better friends. Hopefully in that order.
