The organization has many flaws, but don't allow yourself to be mislead out of it so easily.
If the "organization" is directed by god and is the "truth", how can it have flaws?

Because it is made up of imperfect men. Look at the apostles. Read 1 Corinthians and Peters letters and Revelation 2 and 3 and see how many flaws God people had.
showing you parts of the Reasoning Book is likely to be biased somewhat! do a deal with him and say lets study this subject with your WTS publications and then (purchase if you can) lets look at my evidence offering the 2 excellent books on this subject "The Sign of the Last Days, When? and The Gentile Times Reconsidered" by Carl Olaf Jonson.
Well have fun following your imperfect organization and it's publications.
Dear Twitch, debating with Recovery is a job that needs a lot of patience, just as an example, he/she/they have used the usual J.W technique of not actually answering the point you make, just majoring on a word you used and therefore deflecting your point, and attempting to de-rail this thread in the process.
"Flaws" was a bad word to use, see Recovery's answer, what you should have asked is "As the W.T claims to be: "God's Spirit directed Organization" (many many times in print) how come over the last 130 years they have constantly gone in the wrong direction ?"
Watch for the answer, look at the answer, is it answering the question, or is it arguing about the words used ?
J.W's have a number of such techniques. None of which really involve honest debate.
As to the O.P, I find it fascinanting that this Elder has touched on the major problem, if 1914 is wrong, then 1919 is wrong and today's WT and its GB are liars as to their appointment, or indeed any connection with God.
He then goes on to say, therefore 1914 must be true because it fits with all that hangs upon it. Oh dear, Oh dear, start with a false premise and whatever argument you use, the premise is still false.
The Schools of Philosophy of old had an exercise just like that, start with a false premise or fact , "prove" it by good argumentation, and then return to the falsehood. The students going round in this circle knew their starting point was false, just as today's WT knows the whole 1914 thing is false.
Eh, I've no desire to debate; it's just an opinion as the majority of apologist true believers have no interest in listening anyways. At the very least, it benefits doubtful lurkers
As for this one, if you can make horses drink, carry on.
The recent WT articles on 607 were so full of BS it isn't funny. 607 falls, so does 1914.
"because it is an organization made up of imperfect men"
I cant quite see how this phrase used billions of times really gets the WTS out of jail, who have clearly made biblical prophetic statements that have failed to come true in any way shape or form. This is a very serious issue that is addressed by Duet 18 , 20-22. How does the WTS make itself immune from this condemnation? The WTS calls itself "the Channel of communication that God uses to dispense truths to people today, The Faithful Slave, The Governing Body, The Greater David, The Elijah Class etc, yet the WTS is hastily quick to condemn churches and individuals who like wise speculate on Biblical prophecy that is "flawed" terms like "spiritual wilderness, being Goat like, pigs returning to their shit" are used countless times in the literature. The WTS has even used that passage from Duet to condemn their bitter rivals in Christendom. If you believe that the WTS was selected by God in 1918 as the "channel" to dispense truths to the Earth, does that mean they can literally do as they please? join the UN ? harbour paedophiles? have a dreadful scandal with thier own brothers in Mexico and Malawi, pressurize thousands over the years to accept death rather then receive blood, let 2 active homosexuals serve for decades on the exclusive "Governing Body" and not even punish these predators in any shape or form,promote a catalogue of dates that have failed miserably as a Biblical doctrine yet were promoted as "truth" and to be accepted as truth, and if anyone vocally criticises these "truths" they are to be cast out as "apostates". Sorry Recovery it cant work like that.
@RECOVERY
As an active Witness myself, I would never ridicule any of my brothers & sisters for believing a false teaching, because I have for several years - but I will try my best to encourage such ones to look to the Bible to confirm or deny what they've been told to believe!
That's all I ask of you - examine 2 Scriptures, reason on them, and then compare what Jesus said, with what 20th century men claim.
Be courageous enough to admit that some men are seriously at odds with what the Bible says; e.g. Revelation 20:12 - neither the wording nor the explanation given by the Governing Body is mentioned in that verse - it's totally man-made!! Use your God-given reasoning abilities!
w71 12/15 p. 750 par. 10 -
"The facts of modern history show that in the year 1919 [Jesus] revived these much afflicted disciples and gathered them together in a united body. Then he appointed them as his “slave” class “over all his belongings,” that is, over all his royal interests at the earth."
Bible facts,
on the other hand, reveal the above statement to be contradictory and without foundation.Matt. 24:46,47
says – " Happy is that slave if his master on *arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to you, He will appoint him over all his belongings." (*Strongs Greek word no. 2064 - erchomai)
1 Cor. 11:26 says
– " For as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives." (*Strongs Greek word no. 2064 - erchomai)When Jesus '
arrives' or ' comes', (Strongs Greek word no. 2064 - erchomai) two things must occur;
1) He will appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings.
2) The memorial of Christ's death will cease to be celebrated.
If the Memorial
is still celebrated, then Jesus has not come, has not judged any slave yet, nor appointed anyone over his belongings.
Both of these events will occur simultaneously, not 100 years apart!.
'Test the inspired expressions' - this was not a "suggestion" - it was a God-given command to protect gullible Christians!!
We ignore it at our peril.
Recovery, not sure if you noticed that the Scriptures you quoted used the term congregation, not organization. There is a difference.
Also, how many mistakes in the Bible, since it was written by imperfect apostles?
