After all, 2014 will be 100 years of Christ's invisible reign. The average JW must be thinking that surely means something. Will we see enthusiasm on a scale not seen since the mid 70s? Or will the malaise continue?
Will there be a renewed sense of urgency for JWs in 2013?

LOL maybe the malaise is only on my part since I know it's all bullshit. Still, I see the next year as being a special one, although I do think the WT will survive the disappointment that will come when 2015 dawns. Then they will stretch things out again til 2034 (based on the Noah account). Unless of course all the child molestation lawsuits actually cripple the Society before then (let's hope).

In the talk "Keep Jehovah's Day Close in Mind" the D.O discussed not listening to ridiculers and made the personal remark that "we are near the 100 year mark, we are getting close to the wire." I feel sorry for brothers like the D.O. who sacrficed their personal lives thinking they probably wouldn't have to do it for long cause the end would certainly come near the 100 year mark '2014'.

Just like the expectations of :
The first world war 1914-18
The monetary collapse in 1929
The great depression
The 2nd world war 1939-45
6000 years of human existance culminating in 1975 , an appropiate time for Jesus Christs 1000 year reign to begin
This old system of things will be long gone before the year 2000 , so no need for an education in this system of things
Of course their will be a further dangling of the carrot leading up to the year 2014 , this is what has kept the WTB&TS going for the past 130+ years , dangling a carrot in front of their members .
Post 2014 ,their will be spin, rationalizing why the expectations never materialized ,probably blaiming the rank and file for getting ahead of themselves , as they did after the 1975 disappointment
Then they will probably point the faithful to a future event , still clinging to the 1914 date, and adding 120 years of Noahs preaching before the flood came,and arriving at the year 2034 as a possible/probable timetable for Armaggeddon.
You have marvel at the ingenuity of these people to hoodwink millions of people for over a hundred years, yet sadly at the cost of thousands of lives .
EG: The ever conflicting interpretations of the blood poicy,fractions,bovine,etc.etc.
Highlighting 16 children as martyrs in their Awake magazine dying because of their ever changing blood policys.At another time these children would not have lost their lives .
So will their be a sense of urgency for JWs in 2013 ?
To answer that question , I would say : If you have your head in the sand , head up your arse , or your a complete dickhead then their will be a sense of urgency in 2013 ,however history has shown that all of your, prophecys ,expectations , evident realities , expectations etc. etc. have not, nor ever materialized ,so surely you must be judged along with those who are false prophets

I think the vast majority of JW's are far too tired of the whole thing to actually gee themselves up in any way, but they keep jogging along in the same desultory way beacause they fear something really is "going to happen".
When 2014 is gone, then 2015, then 2016 some , just some, may begin to wake up, but as Smiddy says, head up arse is not a good pose for seeing what to us is the "bleedin' obvious".

It will be interesting to see if they knock on my door. I work from home 2 to 3 days per week and they don't come when I'm home.
Prior to my Dad moving in about a year and a half ago, they never came when I was home.
They haven't been here since my Dad moved out. They only used to come once in a while over the last year and a half anyways because dropping off a magazine to a man who has no idea what you're talking about (and never will again) is a waste of your time and paper. Of course, you can still report it as valid time on the Field Serve-Us Report but, really, what is the point other than marking your time?

Why none, of course! Other than trying to keep the sheeple moving on the treadmill. I believe that is one thing that started waking me up. The never ending cycle of to-do's with no life and hardly any free time. Then you were made to feel guilty by the system if you did anything for yourself. I am so glad to be a spiritually weak sheep on the apostasy watch-list in my KH. If I can just get my wife to wake up!
