    My husband accused me of Apostasy today! When he came home from work I was talking to a friend on the telephone and he asked me what was I talking about. I know that he thought that I was talking about the things that I learned about the misleading prophecies that the WT had printed. I reassured him that I was not. I could see that he wanted to discuss it a little more so I proceeded to say;

Pure………You know that when I read the early history of Russell its as if I am reading about Joseph Smith.
    Hubby…….Starts laughing
Pure………. Did you know that 90% of the things that Russell taught are wrong?
Hubby……..How do you know that? Who is to say if he was wrong? He was printing what he felt to be right.
Pure……….. It doesn’t make it right just because he wanted it to be. You should not defend someone that was wrong. Defend the truth not a lie. He said that Jesus Christ presence began in 1874 and that Armageddon would take place in 1914. Did it happen? Rutherford comes right behind him and changed everything that he said. You know why? Because Russell was wrong.
    Hubby………Smirking
Pure………..Then I looked at him and said, “wait a minute, maybe Russell was right and the “Boys” now are wrong. Maybe Jesus did begin his presence in 1874 and Armageddon did come in 1914. Maybe Rutherford was right in saying that Moses, David, and the older prophets would be resurrected in 1925. Maybe they are living in Afghanistan in the caves waiting for the right time to reveal themselves. Maybe one of them is President Bush and some are congressmen.
Hubby……..rolling his eyes……….starts laughing. You are just a little apostate. I hope that you are not saying these things to anyone. You know that if they find out at the Kingdom Hall they will hunt you down like a dog and disfellowship you?
Pure………..So who is lying? Russell, Rutherford, or the Boys at the WTS today. If I had to choose, of one that is telling the truth I would say Russell. (Sarcastically)
    Hubby……..Walks out shaking his head.
Pure………..Laughing so hard that tears came to my eyes.
Hubby....Yells back to me over his shoulder.....you are corrupting me!
    Pure.....Laughing even harder.

No, what you di was to plant seeds of doubt. Now all you have to do is water it and watch it grow.

I don't want someone in my life I can live with. I want someone in my life I can't live without.

Wow, quite the compliment! is he still in?

Do you get to joke around like this often?

Are you two in real love? Do you have the freedom to express thoughts without compromising this love?

Does he consider you a spiritual danger?

I'd be careful if this is something new. They can turn on you quicker than he can say "how high?"

Interesting, if any of the gospels or letters had specifically identified certain dates, prophecies, that were said to have been God's dates etc., didn't come to pass, would anyone today put any confidence in the bible? Why worship the watchtower's words and put any faith into anything they print?
By their own words they are condemned.
So now Russell & Rutherford are no longer in the truth[tm]

I thought his choice of words was really something... they will hunt you down like dogs? Of course, I believe it, but he said it. Hard to stay in a religon where you believe that.

Your hubby sounds a lot like my wife. "Hunt you down like a dog?" What a nice reference for your lady! I have no respect for a man that speaks like that to his wife. Even with all the problems I have with my dub wife, I never insinuate or say she is like a dog.

Boy, can't you just feel the love from a JW?

If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?

Hi Pure: Sounds like he knows the JW religion well to talk about them hunting you down. From what you say, he sounds like he has his own doubts, but he just does not want to be out in the open yet.

Dakota is right. There is no respect or appreciation or anything good portryed in a dialogue like that. I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope things get better in the relationship--JW or no.

Dearest Pureheart... may you have peace...

And may you know that your husband is not as bad or in the dark as some may think... for he speaks truth, and quite accurately, I might add:

You know that if they find out at the Kingdom Hall they will hunt you down like a dog and disfellowship you?
That statement there, though, were it made by me, would give me reason to stop... and think. I hope it does for him.

    Peace to you!

    A slave of Christ,

    SJ
