i susspect life in the new system will very much like life in this one... the reality is we get a new system every four years and it seems to work pretty much the same no matter who runs it... wait, you are talking about the presidential debates right?

After Armageddon

I watched this on television...it is not a religious theme. But it does show how things will fall apart and the last part shows how people manage to pickup their lives and what things they don't have.

Thanks Blondie that show I also watched it really goes to show how people deal with very tough situations and makes me us think just how spoiled we really in terms of the luxeries that we enjoy and take for granted.

I think you have to really, really rely on faith that somehow god (Jehovah) will make things right. If you really consider the New System as proposed by the JWs, the impossibilities of people side by side with lions is just the least of it.
As a dub I never thought this way, but now I realize that I would NEVER want to live in a world run by the elders. Which is what the NEw System would be, standard of living aside.
But, I mean, you look at real natural disasters that have occurred in recent years and wonder what the aftermath would be if the only people left were uneducated drones.

I would presume that the fictional paradise would be something like the factual Amish and mennonite worlds...

Cobaltcupcake:
I always felt their view of the "new system" was full of holes.
Of course, technology would be needed and intelligent, educated people to operate it!!
SO, if everything in this "system" is to be destroyed (and intelligent, educated people along with it), as the religion assumes will happen, survivors would be scrounging around for food like poor starving orphans. What about survivors with immediate needs for medication/machines? Will they have to die and be resurrected?? Too many unanswered questions (electricity? etc.)
The picture would resemble the aftermath of an 11 point earthquake or nuclear devastation. Oh, that's right, Jehovah is going to cause one or more miracles to happen to remedy all this!

I enjoy this interactive timeline for a hypothetical; what if all the people disappeared all at once?

First to go is the power grid. Then, the chemical containment systems and nuclear power plants would go several days later when their backup systems ran out of fuel. All these systems require constant human intervention to stay safe.

Most jw's think that there will be no industry or trade after the big A. Each one will have their own fig tree and do everything for themselves.\
So if I build a machine to grind grain faster than by hand I can't barter my services for carrots or potatoes that my neighbor is good at growing.
Without divine intervention it will be a very sad existence.
Just like the dark ages
