People still hunted after the flood, no? Some folk still hunt to this day.

Yes, but post flood people would never have seen saber tooth tigers or woolly mammoths would they?

Not in the real world, but in Watchtower reality? Maybe. They have got dinosaurs walking with humans on the inside cover of their green Bible after all!

St George of England
Interesting programme scheduled for BBC2 next Monday (22nd Oct) 9.00pm.
Prehistoric Autopsy - Prof Alice Roberts on Neanderthal man.
I don't think she believes in the flood or man being around for only 6,000 years. Then again she probably missed the relevant Awake! articles.

Why flood the WHOLE earth? This would have included the Americas, Africa, Mexico, North & South Pole, and other continents, etc. Were there people on these other continents? And if there were people on these continents - how did Noah preach to them without the benefit of modern day travel?

To take the story as literal is the silliest of things to do, therefore the WT does it. The trouble is, once you start allowing for allegory, many of the scriptures used by the W.T to bludgeon their R&F in to obedience to the GB are not so effective.
Which plant varieties that at present pre-date the flood , one actual plant, that survives by planting itself, Kings Lomatia on Tasmania for example is 43, 000 years old, could it , and similar aged varieties survive for a year submerged in sea water ?

Phizzy - "...once you start allowing for allegory, many of the scriptures used by the WT to bludgeon their R&F into obedience to the GB are not so effective."
You hit the nail on the head.
Not to mention that once you start to reclassify the overtly supernatural phenomena in the Bible as allegorical, where do you stop? The creation of Adam in Eden? The Ten Plagues? The miracle of the loaves and fishes? Jesus` Resurrection?
Eventually, the inclination to explain all the Bible`s miraculous elements that way can become overwhelming, and once that happens, kiss your fundamentalist faith (and everything that came with it) goodbye.
That ain`t always a pleasant feeling for some.

So did Noah get the formula for transparent aluminum from an " angel " to make his giant aquariums? Otherwise how could the tanks withstand the immense amout of pressure from the water? The only logical explanation is that the prime directive was violated.
