The whole Abel fary-story is ridiculous. They made up an four-side article out of a few paragraphs in Genesis. Its not just going beyond what is written, they take it all for real. Even mentioning (and painting) the "flaming blade of a sword" - which obviously god had invented.

Here's a great quote from the new WT article about the end of the world. I'm sure it will resonate with most New Yorkers as they walk past the pioneer sister table displaying it in the subway:

    1. However, the Bible prophets who spoke about the end were not trying to explain baffling events of their day. Instead, they were inspired by God to describe conditions that would indi- cate an imminent end of the world. Consider some of those prophecies and decide for yourself whether they are being fulfilled in our time. [italics theirs, bolding mine]

Oh shit! They were inspired by god?!? What the hell have I been doing with my life!?!? This Burberry umbrella is no match for those fireballs on the cover! I need to get it right with god ------ ASAP!

    This one is great too:

Just as a surgeon might remove a cancerous tumor to save a patient’s life, God will “cut off” the wicked so that good people can truly enjoy life on earth. (Psalm 37:9) In that sense, “the end of the world” is a good thing.

Unfortunately for you, dear reader, according to the watchtower god considers 99.9% of the world to be an evil cancer. When the Great Sturgeon in done removing that wicked lump of cancer, all that will be left of the human race is a few freckles and a clot of earwax.

    It's a good thing.

We had this " progressive adjustment " announced last night. The funniest thing was how the GB wanted to let the " friends " know how the magazines may be shipped. They may be packed together like KM's. So make sure you s-e-p-a-r-a-t-e them so as not to give the householder 2 Awakes intead of one! Translation: " We the GB believe that you are all so stupid that you can't figure this out without specific instruction." After some of the MS and Elders I have talke to, it may be true. I wish I had the annoucement letter, so happifying.....

Anyone read the article “You Have . . . Revealed Them to Babes”? The whole thrust of the article was clearly to push themselves as having the unique ability to understand Bible "truth". It never expressly states this, but it is implied. Notice @ the end:

"If you study God’s Word with the right attitude of mind and heart, you may be among those to whom Jehovah gives a precious gift—an understanding of the truth about him. Grasping that truth will add meaning to your life now and can lead to “the real life”—endless life in God’s promised new world of righteousness soon to come.*—"

On the surface, a person may believe that on their own they can gain such "truth" through prayer and diligence. But at the end of that statement, there is a footnote that reads "Jehovah’s Witnesses would be pleased to help you to learn the truth about God and his purposes. They offer free home Bible studies, using the book What Does the Bible Really Teach?"

Clearly, Jehovahs Witnesses are among the "humble" one they were speaking of. Read the whole page...it's more stupipdity for people to swallow. So happy to be done with this crap

While at the convention, it dawned on me that
I had been to the same venue for a rock concert
about a year earlier. The contrast I saw touched
my deepest emotions. At the concert, the facility
was littered with garbage and filledwith cigarette
smoke. Most of the concertgoers were unfriendly,
and the message in the music was depressing.
But at the convention, I was surrounded by genuinely
    happy people

Yes. Most concerts are full of unhappy people listening to depressing music. :eye roll:
