MP - they could have returned to nazareth to pack up and go to egypt. Or since he was at Egypt just until Herod the Great died, he would have been a toddler, the writer didn't see a point in mentioning it. That part cannot be proven or disproven. One of the scriptures says they did not document every little thing. So for example...... one can say, "after Jesus healed the man, he went into the temple and preached". Another can say, "after Jesus healed the man, he departed to Bethlehem". Does that mean one is incorrect? Or it means he healed the man, went to the templed and preached, then went to Bethlehem. They don't all have to be exact copies detailing the exact same stuff, or it would be only 1 book.
There are true mixups and things in them however, intentionally done later on, but those are in the way of scrambling up some of his speeches and illustrations and those can be proven to be messed around with.
