MP - they could have returned to nazareth to pack up and go to egypt. Or since he was at Egypt just until Herod the Great died, he would have been a toddler, the writer didn't see a point in mentioning it. That part cannot be proven or disproven. One of the scriptures says they did not document every little thing. So for example...... one can say, "after Jesus healed the man, he went into the temple and preached". Another can say, "after Jesus healed the man, he departed to Bethlehem". Does that mean one is incorrect? Or it means he healed the man, went to the templed and preached, then went to Bethlehem. They don't all have to be exact copies detailing the exact same stuff, or it would be only 1 book.

There are true mixups and things in them however, intentionally done later on, but those are in the way of scrambling up some of his speeches and illustrations and those can be proven to be messed around with.

I think the birth was about 6 BC , no zero year plus he died in 33 CE - that would allow for Herod to die at 4 bc ....as in the interim, Herod tried to kill all the babies 2 years of age and under.....would that make Jesus 40 when he died? The Bible resounds with that number and he being a king/priest would follow that tradition.. even though the bible says he was about 30 when he started preaching...... and preached for the 3 1/2 years...

Jesus was 12 when found in the temple by Mary - anyone know about what date that was??Can an age/date be garnered from that info hence a birthdate?

Am I off base on that one?
