I think a little of the old tendacy to regard JW issues as something newsworthy to the rest of the world still lingers. Most people that make up the other 99% don't know, care, listen, to the strange issues that 'dubs find themselves in.
You got it. When you only amount to 1/10th of 1% of the population at large, you just are not newsworthy -- good or bad -- unless it's REALLY bad.
NOBODY CARES ABOUT JWs. There isn't enough interest in them to sell newspapers. If you read something about JWs in the paper, it's because their PR Dept sent a new release and it was a slow news day.
WE care because of our personal situation or that of a loved one. Nobody else gives a rat's @$$, other than when the JWs wake 'em up on Saturday morning.

One more the JW elders John Cobb, Jason Cobb and Arlen St Clair. From Menlo Park. The hits just keep on comming this year for us. It must means Gods Blessing to JWN and the end is close.

"I suppose from the standpoint of a smart "spiritual consumer" who would do a little Googling before getting indoctrinated, this has been a good year. The Internet savvy will not get lured in." Londo111
Which would consist primarily of well-educated younger people - just the sort of 'new blood' that the Watchtower Society is lacking...
How wonderful that the Watchtower Society is slowly starving their own organization of youthful, new "blood"...

I have a feeling its going to continue on this way into the foreseeable future.
The general public is starting to be more aware of cults like the JWS and Scientology etc.
The inter-net is helping this along as more information gets spread about through this media source.
Thats a good thing

I agree wha happened. Conspicuously few people would even bat an eyelid at all these so-called PR disasters. The only way I found out about the Condi case was on this forum. It did not - repeat did not - hit the media big time in the States.
So thread titles that breathlessly announce all the negative hits faced by the Watchtower are way over the top. Sure, they won't welcome the bad publicity and yes they'll come up with some sanitized response to it but they'll hardly lose sleep over it.

Wasn't stated recently that affiliation with a church has hit a new low in the US?

templelijah could do with a few paracetamol swallowed with a mixture of equal parts cider vinegar, lemon juice, teaspoon of melted honey and three parts water (fluoridated optional). That should ameliorate some of the scriptural-bile-driven conspiracy obsessiveness he has heartily swallowed - hook, line and sinker - but he needs to be within striking distance of a clean lavatory if he is prone to sudden, unannounced public humiliation.
