I've had three calls this AM from my JW mom about the storm. And how bad, etc. And last week I got an email that "they" declared Peace and Security at the UN so it really is the GT!!
This just proves it. A hurricane hitting NY! A JW dream come true!

As my mother and I have been watching TV (once we finally got power back) and seeing the devastation, my mom who is still a very devout JW says to me "look, this is how armageddon will look like."

Good point skeeter. Sounds like they've forgotten about the more recent Katrina and Andrew ... anybody remember Hurricane Hazel?
There will always be these storms... and tornados... and earthquakes... and volcanos erupting. It may mean a certain type of local Armageddon has occurred temporarily for the people in the area hit but these storms have not, never have, and never will clobber the entire Earth to the point where massive numbers are left dead or dying.
Not only have Wacktower been sayin' Armageddon is 'imminent' for decades without a shred of evidence or it coming true, but the Bible stated this about 2,000 years ago. The odds are not in favour of it ever happenin'.
Now that my Father has dementia and is in a nursing home, zero cash has flowed from him to Wacktower. They will never get another penny from him... EVER AGAIN.
