Our city have a flea market on the main street on

Fridays. One evening the wife and I was browsing.

We came up on one stand with two young ladies.

I said Hi, a little surprised. One of the young ladies

said Hi and the other turn away. As we walked away

the wife ask, do you know them. Yes, they are my nieces.

What the hell, was my wife response. Yes when they

were young they spent a lot of time in my home. We took

vacation togather. One was my brother daughter and the other

one was my sister daughter. I have known them since

the day they were born. My wife, that,s sick. I am going

back to give them a piece of my mind. Me, don,t bother it

    will make matters worst.

Some love bomb me, but others, especially elders and their wives, treat me like I'm some dirty whore. It's so infuriating. I'm not even disfellowshipped, but yet they treat me like trash because I am inactive. Family members are the worst I've found. I've always been there for them, and still try to reach out and help them, and they basically slap my hand away. Their loss, those damn bastards.

Jam, that's so terrible and so sad. I feel angry on your behalf, just as your wife did.

What a terrible religion that makes family members behave like that!

I was at the gym and waved at a jw who then just walked the opposite way. There have been others who say hello to me. They never carry any long convervations, which is fine with me.

One sister ignores me, will not even look in my direction, the other used to get in my face and scream at me, things such as "How dare you impose your presence on us. You have left Jehovah," when she saw me at our mother's home. Now, she too ignores me. My cousins ignore me and tell others that I am no longer family and am nothing. If I dare speak, they scream the most ugly things at me. I have met the enemy and it's my family. It used to hurt, but you get used to it. When I graduated from University, I sent my sisters an announcement. They ignored it, but at least they are aware that I have progressed in life. I have moved away from my hometown, so I do not know any jws where I live. That's a blessing.

Some people shun me, even though I was never baptized. Most will say "hi", but they seem really uncomfortable. That's not too surprising; after all, what do we have in common to talk about now? I usually just smile at them and let them decide if they want to come to me and talk.

I think the logic goes: She was raised in, so she should know better and follow "The Truth".
