The question is, what would you hope to accomplish? And do you want to stay in the church? Let's face it, the FDS is now an integral part of JW theology. From now on, the heirarchy will start with the FDS and end with the FDS. You undoubtedly feel a need to discuss this with the elders, and if the FDS is not God's representatives on Earth, then who is?

Bringing this up with the elders will almost assuredly result in the interpretation that you are rebellious and call into question your loyalty to both the church and its leaders. I'd do it in a heartbeat, but then, I don't believe in the FDS's self appointed position as God's mouthpiece. So you just have to determine what the worst consequences could be and if you'd be willing to "repent" if they forced you into a corner.

I don't know what it would accomplish. Yes I want out, and I want my family out. I guess i should know better than to think i could wake anyone up.

I guess I was fantasizing about how great it would be to make them look like idiots. That is not a very noble motive for doing anything..... Maybe if I am patient things will work out better. It's frustrating!!!

Dat, let me say ur idea itself os great and as soon as i heard the report from the anal meeting i ran around doing something similar to plant seeds. I framed it as a GB take over and oh i hope it isnt true and im so worried blah blah... So its not the concept per say, its the interaction with your elders and the sort of gotcha moment that you hoped for with them. That aspect wont work, but using this early knowledge can have benefit with ur wife! Im sorry if i gave u the impression it was pointless all the way around, i only think its pointless as a 'gotcha' moment with the elders

You have to tease them out in a way that doesn't identify you as Satan's minion. You need them to confide their disbelief in the GB to you.

I totally empathise with your feelings, but the Scriptural advice I derive, is from 2 Thess. 2:9-12 where it tells us that Jehovah is allowing the corruption to continue for His own reasons - therefore, why should I try to stop this?

I just give carefully worded answers based purely on the Bible, as well as being very careful when in conversation with others.

A little P.S. - an elder's wife gave an answer which referred to the 'wonderful new scrolls' which will be opened during the 1000 year reign of Christ.

So I've decided that if I work with him in the future, I'm going to subtly bring up the point that I don't understand why Revelation 20 says that these scrolls will be opened after Satan is destroyed - not during the 1000 years, and then ask him, "Can you explain that to me?".

Do you mean the Book of Life? I don't know what else you could be referring to. You said they were "wonderful new scrolls," and I didn't know whether this was an esoteric reference or whether I missed something.

I am referring to the perverted teaching that "new" scrolls will be opened during the millenium, and they will contain "wonderful new teachings."

1. Revelation 20:12 says nothing about "new" scrolls.

2. The scrolls mentioned in Revelation 20:12 have two functions only - to judge the dead and to give life.

3. Revelation 20:1-10 clearly shows that the millenium has passed and Satan is destroyed before the scrolls are opened.

Tell me if this is a stupid idea.
