Dunk 'em at lunch?

Baptisms were performed during lunch for all 42 of my JW years, if there was no pool at the hall.

In purpose built assembly halls, the pool was was adjacent to the platform, and the audience watched the dunking before lunch.

When we used the Guildhall at Portsmouth, the baptism was done off site, during lunch. It still is as far as I know.

    2. Can't waste valuable mind-control speech time on this.

Here we have the probable true, over-riding reason for this practice.

As an aside, my church makes baptism (immersion) a big deal. It gets a service all its own, and the person and a mentor are invited to speak. The event becomes a celebration of that person's faith.

The WT program is as a group. There is a group prayer, and everyone parades out as a group. For the Witnesses, there is no promise of individual protection, but only as a corporate body.

    Food for thought.

It doesn't interfere with lunch very long.

Never more than 2 or 3 getting baptized at the CA anymore.

(On 1 occasion, zero took the plunge. Young folks wising up.)

Who knew eh, it is a big change for anyone in England who has spent their life going to CAs in Northenden.

Just one more example of how damn isolated JDubs are... Even from other Dubs.

But that would be giving attention to the PERSON BAPTIZED, JgNat!

The JWs don't even want to give attention to the PERSON at their funeral!
