If it is a fake tree, go ahead. If a real tree, hold off and follow the safety directions or you might burn your house down.
Xmas ads are out already, so a tree is not problem. We're putting it up next week but you can wait till Thanksgiving and make it a family project.

So I have some good memories of Christmas before my mom converted. The best things where gatherings and for me gifts.
As an adult gifts don't appeal to me anymore and gatherings would not be the same. My wife's family still in the LIE and I doubt my parents would want to join us. They know the TTATT but they can't let go. Since we don't really have any friends I didn't think about celebrating Christmas.
My wife never celebrated Christmas. So I didn't think it would appeal to her. So about a month or so I mention to her maybe we should put up a small Christmas tree. I was kidding am cheap(I mean frugal) so I don't want to spend on a Christmas tree nor ornaments. Well she is now very exited and like every other day she brings home an ornament for the three I am suppost to buy and put up. GREAT!

I know someone who never takes theirs down. Fake tree of course. They push it in the corner, leave it up all year. Then at Thanksgiving, pull it to the center of the room, spruce it up a bit, add a few new ornaments and they're good till sometime in February when they push it back in the corner. And this is a true story...

I bet their general housekeeping is a story all in itself, undercover!

You wager well... Yes, it is as you can imagine...
Fortunately I don't have to venture into the abyss very often

My suggestion would be that if you are going to do one of these year-to-year Christmas Tree plans, then edible ornaments such as popcorn balls probably should not be used...even unwrapped candy canes would seem suspect if left out over the summer.

I put up my tree last night. (a good fake!) Have almost finished decorating the rest of the house. I leave the decorations up until the 2nd /3rd week of January when I take it down, remove the dust from the ornaments and vacuum the tree before putting it away for next year. I have to force myself to wait until November. lol. Enjoy -Leslie-

just Ron
I used my day off work yesterday to put up a small artificial tree in my family room. Just Ron has already started hanging lights outside. i won't put up the big tree until Thanksgiving because I'm going to get a real tree. I'm sure the local dubs will notice my Christmas lights and tree in the front window, but I don't care! I'm going to have a great Christmas this year!

Real or plastic???
If it's an artificial tree, you can put it up right now - but if you do, you should be forced to listen to that blasted Xmas music 24/7 until January 2nd...
If it's a real tree, then putting it up after Thanksgiving would be best - you don't want a dried-out fire hazard in your front parlour...
