Ding...The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life...

Yes, that was the book that had me leave the RCC. a best seller in the Guinness book of records I believe, now out of print for their "one generation" from 1914 + 70 years .....nice graphic.....but totally in error and fundamental to their authority and existence.

It is a bit of a conundrum; "you shall KNOW the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set you FREE".

The WTBTS has more rules than the five books of Moses. Nothing is left to the Christian conscience or free-will. There are rules for minutiae and many of the Bible verses cited are, by their own admission, not directly applicable. This creates some cognitive issues. For example, while I am neither attempting to advocate nor disapprove of certain behaviors, let's take the example of the WTBTS's objections to oral sex within the marital relationship. This is a perfect example of the GB over stepping its authority. Consider, this behavior has been in evidence in most cultures for thousands of years, and yet, the Bible is mute on the subject. The Cumin and the Mint are mentioned but not even a remote reference to oral sex within the marital arrangement. It was common during the periods of the Prophets and NT.

However, some old, puritanical men (that probably aren't getting any) write the following:

Thus, a mates enforcing perverted acts, such as oral or anal sex, within the marriage would not constitute a Scriptural basis for a divorce that would free either for remarriage. Even though a believing mate is distressed by the situation, yet that ones endeavor to hold to Scriptural principles will result in a blessing from Jehovah. In such cases it may be helpful for the couple to discuss the problem frankly, bearing in mind especially that sexual relations should be honorable, wholesome, an expression of tender love. This certainly should exclude anything that might distress or harm ones mate.

Men are typically underwhelmed by these assertions and it is usually the wives that are weak enough to be influenced by their personal, non-Biblical opinions (I speak from experience). Note that the GB and various writers characterize behavior that isn't even remotely addressed by the Bible as "perverted acts, such as oral or anal sex, within the marriage".

    Another quote as follows:

Unnatural practices in connection with sex in marriage, such as oral and anal copulation, have caused some of God's people to become impure in his eyes. But The Watchtower kept above this morass of filth by alerting married couples to God's thinking on the matter.

This is interesting, how do they know that this has caused some of God's people to become impure in his eyes. They can't get any prophetic dates right but God is giving them the low-down on oral.

Unfortunately, I cannot locate it now but in one of these articles they state something to the effect that; "Admittedly, this scripture doesn't directly apply to this but the principle, yadda yadda.

My point of all of this that the entire objection is filled with subterfuge and deception to influence the R&F to believe that things are egregious and wrong because some old, repressed men say so.

This applies to so many things that I've lost count. In all of this they can't quote even one scripture that directly, or really even indirectly, address this issue. To say that since this is how "Gays" engage in sexual congress makes it wrong I only have to say that Gays; kiss, eat, shit, hug, etc.

Ergo, that should not be the criterion by which we decide what is, and isn't, appropriate for married couples (in their private lives).

Lastly, what's the deal w/ the GB, they are a bunch of tards and losers. Their provenence is not verifiable.
