During a watchtower study in 1962, one of the questions was,
"should we be having children in this time of the end, or be
pioneering."
Actually the WTS. has been saying things like this prior to 1962.
As far back as the 1930's, also the implication of not even getting married.
When the 1975 debacle came about it just fueled this assertion further.
In 1969 I was assigned to a inner city congregation that had many older sisters who had gone through the Knorr years 1940s to the 1950s when all of the hurtful anti-children rhetoric was going on. Those sisters had wanted children and the sadness and loss was openly talked about. Some of the sisters openly resented the younger mothers. What a mess and all for two guys who were really not stable adults (Knorr and Franz).
If any of you heard Knorr rant on for two+ hours at the 1969? special Assembly at Anaheim Stadium you saw crazy in all its glory.

Now I can imagine how scary it must have been for you to feel that way in 1975. 37 years, how do you feel now that it was nothing but a hoax? And do yo know your congragation members who were very dissapointed like you?
