I had an opportunity to see Skyfall in the theater yesterday. It's almost as good as Casino Royale, with some parts of it being even better.
The opening sequence was a real thrill, one of the best. Javier Bardem does a masterful job at playing the bad guy. The cinematography (Deakins) is pretty amazing, especially in two sequences that take place in China.
Sam Mendes directs this one, and he gives long-time Bond fans several juicy nuggets that they will appreciate. The overall tone of the film is less gimmicky than many previous Bond films, without being too dark.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again, and I would give it an 8 or an 8.5 out of 10, on the Bond scale.
What did you guys think about it?
