    dear Cold Steel...

you said:" Not only did they believe that all men have spirits, but that man existed prior to coming to Earth. (See Jeremiah 1:5)"

God knows the end from the beginning. He knows each of us...whether we will respond to His call on our life or not. He knows our destiny because He has seen it. He can provide opportunities for those who are called to minister effectively knowing that they will take ever opportunity to preach the word...those would be the very elect. Called to be sent from the very beginning because God knew them. The same "thing" for jeremiah as for all the other prophets that God had foreknowledge of...the apostles...all the way into our "time".

No human existed before we entered this earthly realm. Not even the flesh body of Jesus.(He always existed in union with the Father and the Holy Spirit as the Son of God) When (most) humans die they enter the "paradise" spoken of in luke (the rich man and lazarus) this is not the eternity where God resides.(the highest heaven) This is where the just and the unjust are resurrected from. (Some humans are translated into eternity, we have Jesus and elijah as known examples of this and the beloved apostle paul was also hoping for this "better resurrection", the resurrection of Christ he called it)

Because God resides outside of our time in eternity, it can be said that the end of our time has already been seen and "experienced" in that eternity by God and by those who have entered into it and it may be God's will that some be sent "back" into our "time" at God's will...elijah would again be an example of this, having made his appearance known twice already as himself, as JtB and scripture says he will come once more ...

anyway...we are told in the scriptures that the flesh comes first and then we are born of the Spirit through salvation which is in Jesus Christ alone.

How do you explain the paradox.

You keep busy chasing your tail and your life passes.

    Apparently, God is unknowable.

Mans writings are mans best feeble attempt at explaining the mystery.

Actually, lead water pipes are not particularly dangerous unless the water is highly acidic.

New York city had some lead water pipes will into the past century.

Many refrigerated water fountains use a lead container to chill the water you drink from them.

Can anybody give just one example of a NON-interpreted "Truth" from any religion which reports the thoughts of God to man?

God could "manifest" a book, surely. Why use human emanuensis?

If He can create a chrysanthemum I think He could fashion a book with golden paper-thin pages in silver letters.

It all strikes me as such a magic trick where the Magic is in our credulity in listening to one magician after the other misdirect our attention.

All of religious practices are ritual magic one way or the other. They are dumb prestidigitations producing a "wow" at the end. (Gosh, how did he do that??)

I saw a magician the other day who did a very startling bit of magic. But, I guessed the trick for some strange reason. I just asked myself, "What is the one false premise?"

When you question the false premise the secret to the trick pops out easily. It is our perception at fault. What looks normal is rigged to NOT be.

Take sawing a woman in half for example. The magician "appears to be" sawing her in half. The box she is in is hand-fabricated to trick the eye.

"...Zid, I agree! I feel something - I think it's what they call 'spirituality' -- it's when I'm in nature. It's blissful! I *do* feel out-of-contact with the reality of this sick, twisted society we live in. Maybe that's it - our lives are lived in such an un-natural fashion, that I feel out of place.
Get to the woods, fling myself to the ground, and hug the Mother Earth ... yes I do. It's the same with the sea... I go there every week, and just ahhhhh... HOME. ..." Talisin, page #2

Yes, that's EXACTLY how I feel, too!!

Forget these imaginary, invisible "gods" - it is the mother earth - which we can see, feel, hear, smell, taste, touch - that ACTUALLY sustains us.

If i was a worshipper, i'ld worship the sun. Some of the sunsets over water that i have attended were almost undescribable. If i don't get a sunrise or sunset, now and then, i start going down hill. Monet said that he felt like he was dying when the sun went down. The guy was into light.

    dear Terry...

you said: "God could "manifest" a book, surely. Why use human emanuensis?"

God speaks to humans through human language which is THE WAY the majority of us communicate our thoughts.

example: So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him. Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord . exodus 19:7-8

p.s. "Can anybody give just one example of a NON-interpreted "Truth?""...can you give me the answer to the math question I'm thinking of? let me simplify it for you. its an addition question. there are 7 numbers involved.

"Let me simplify it for you."

That would help the less enlightened among us to relate to your understanding of god and the language he uses to communicates to us through.

New York City had some lead water pipes well into the past century.

    That would explain a lot!

God knows the end from the beginning. He knows each of us...whether we will respond to His call on our life or not. He knows our destiny because He has seen it.

I have created a beautiful glass vase.

I'm going to hold it above the hardwood floor and let go of it.

If it chooses to break it is unworthy of taking a place on my mantle.

    My vase chose wrong!

I'm going to glue it back together and simply ignore the cracks.

    Am I not Wonderful??
