So they spew out all this shit telling the followers that they are their possessions, then they get a bunch of innocent children to sing a song they wrote about blindly obeying them, and then they get everyone including the children to sing another song that they also wrote about about how great they are. What a bunch of sad adoration craving little old men the fds are.

Another gem that came out of the annual meeting was from GB member Jackson in his opening comments about how WT articles are produced. Some of what Jackson covered included the following:
How are the articles produced? This is done at the world headquarters. The Governing Body is very involved. They preview any information prior to printing. If editing is needed it is done at that time. All the Govern Body members read the information before it is printed, some reading it 2-3 times. Even if a Govern Body member submits an article it still goes through the 70 step process that every article goes through. 70 different checks and reviews are done for every article.
How are new truths revealed ? Brother Jackson stated "First of all, the truths are already there." A question comes up about an idea so research is done. The research goes back to the Governing Body. Bro. Jackson said emphatically "This is not a rubber stamp process!" If all the GB members do not agree on the matter it is put on hold and revisited at another time, sometimes a year or two goes by.
My questions are: Why does it take a ‘70 step process’ to get an article produced? Why does it take ’70 different checks and reviews’ for every article?
When an organization has as its’ back-up support Jehovah, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit-why so many checks and reviews? I can understand a need for some proof readers, but a ‘70 step process’! And then Jackson says ‘sometimes a year or two goes by’ before the GB agrees on some matters!
I’m beginning to understand why there is so much in the way of updates, new understanding, new light, changes and the like in WT world. Confirms my doubts that Jehovah is really, any part of this organization.

sd-7: They did SIX TALKS about the meaning of Matthew 24:45-47? SIX TALKS? I mean, what? It's only three verses, man.
Those six talks were given by six different members of the Governing Body. In the above summary they make a point of naming who they were. "Next, a symposium of six talks by members of the Governing Body—Brothers Jackson, Lösch, Pierce, Herd, Lett, and Splane—analyzed and discussed the meaning of Jesus’ words recorded at Matthew 24:45-47."
There were also three branch committee members and their wives on the program, but we aren't told their names, and "four graduates of the Bible School for Christian Couples and a traveling overseer of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York," but we don't much care who they were. But the six members of the Governing Body are specifically named.
This was a show of solidarity. They wanted to make sure they conveyed the idea that ALL the members of the GB are on board with this change. (Or, at least, they had a solid two-thirds majority who agreed on the change.) Morris was already the meeting chairman - and they maybe thought Sanderson was too recent to handle the material. And it didn't matter whether he was for it or against it because they had their majority for this "new idea."

I wonder how many times they viewed the sign language "masturbation" video? Did they get kicks out of it? Did they think it would be appropriate for kids to watch? 70x How embarressing!

Most of the 70 steps review probably have to be done in the legal department!

yourmomma: am i correct in reading that they are claiming that the governing body has been at bethel since 1919
No quite, they work there way around this with "always ... a small group" and "recent years, that group ... Governing Body"
"From 1919 on, there has always been a small group of anointed Christians at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They have supervised our worldwide preaching work and have been directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food. In recent years, that group has been closely identified with the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses."

ok so the GB didnt exist in 1919, but the FDS did? but since the FDS now IS the GB, isnt it the same thing? the idea of the GB didnt come about until the early 70's, right?
i guess what i am getting at is before the 70's, the president called the shots, there was no GB/FDS. So for them to say there was one in 1919 is an out right lie.
so what you are saying is they are attempting to get their legalese on by saying in effect, "oh no, there was no GB in 1919, but there was a small group, the FDS." right?
so this is the same semantic argument they make when they say "no, we are not spirit inspired, we are spirit directed"
am i off?

Not exactly. Basically they are saying that responsible anointed ones at world headquarters who have directed the Watch Tower Organization since 1919 are the F&DS when working collectively as those who are directing the teaching. Pre-governing body they were just responsible anointed ones ... then they coined the phrase Governing Body and ever since, they are the F&DS, not individually, only collectively. Tomorrow if the gauntlet was passed on to responsible members of the Great Crowd and they were the ones deciding in the GB board room what to teach, they would be acting as the F&DS ... the "Slave" has been linked to those directing the organization, it is now an arrangement of certain men, but the certain men aren't themselves the "Slave".

"70 checks and reviews"
So then there is absolutely no excuse for them ever to get anything wrong, or to quote sources out of context.
I.e., when they do quote out of context (as they routinely do), they freely admit they know exactly what they are doing.
Nice.

I like the comment about the evil slave. I want to know more about them. Those groups that formed when they had differences with Russell could not be the "evil slave class"---only if they disobeyed Rutherfraud.
