It is a good point. JW's say how they have such a special relationship with God, since they know his first name. But I would never call my father by his first name. That is why Jesus said to refer to God as Father.
Do you call your father by his legal name? Should we for God?

2 Chronicles 18: 9-ii : even false prophets used the name of jehovah, even produced bible dramas then. so God's name might have an aura, but no magic shield or halo to impart truth, protection or status. blessings

What did Jesus call him? Did Jesus call him Jehovah once in any prayer? NO! Follow the example left by Jesus. "Abba, Father" not "Abba, Jehovah" (Apostle Paul). A simple truth lost to JW's.

Read "In Search of Christian Freedom" by Ray Franz, former member of the Gibbering Body. He has a whole chapter on the use of Jehovah's name. Do you research.

I would rather call him by the name(s) he lives up to. Such as Baghead, or Almighty Lowlife Scumbag.

Watchtower religionists rightly say they are not sons of God.
Whom then are they calling "father"?

I call my parents Mom and Dad. There is no need to use their proper name unless I were calling them in a crowd (as another poster mentioned).
In my opinion, JWs differ just for the sake of being different and they have become so arrogant that they think because the religion chooses to use that magic name, it doesn't matter what it teaches or how correct those teachings are. They think it is just enough that they are sitting there and putting their time in.

My parents would consider me disrespectful if I call them by their first name. I took advantage of this reasoning and made ??them rethink as to call our Heavenly Father for His name. They understood perfectly.
