Awake! 2013 - They finally dropped 'That' statement!

  It's been widely reported on JWN and other places about the change to the caption in the inside front page of Awake!

  From 1982 - 1995 it stated:

  "Most importantly, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new order before the generation that saw the events of 1914 C.E. passes away."

  When it became obvious that this was false because that generation HAD all but passed away, it was changed in Nov 1995 to read:

  "Most important, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things."

  This lasted right up until Dec 2012 where it can still be read.

  Well I guess things move on and ideas change. From Jan 2013, this has been completely removed from the Awake! magazine.

  It may be a way of saving space now the magazine has been halved in size to 16 pages, it may be to save some money on ink.

  Either way, it's the end of an era!

  Perhaps it would look silly if they revised it under 'new light'(TM) to:

  "Most important, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things. (Terms and conditions apply and are subject to 'overlapping' or ‘New Light’™or which ever makes the GB appear to be much higher than God!) "

  So what was considered as "Most important" for 30 years has now become so unimportant as to not warrant being mentioned at all.

  Yet another sign that the Business brains (such as they have) are trying to make the whole thing much more acceptable, at least in the "Public" mags. Well spotted Splash, so they have no mission statement at all inside the Awake now ?

  In tiny 6.5 font on the inside front cover right at the bottom it says

  JWs were informed in 1995 that 1914 was kaput, as far as WT promises go. The informed JWs should have said, Aha! I think I will now stop working for this outfit- but most chose to ignore the obvious. It seems that starting in 2013 the WT publishing racket is not promising anything to the population of the world, so let's see how many will stop going to the KH now-

  The Wt. is morphing into The Bible Students in many ways with regard to the Last Days. Many Bible Student groups consider Armageddon to be synonym for the Last Days and not a specific all.out.war between God and humans. Some also believe we are in the 1000 year reign period. While this current GB are intent on getting Russell out of their history they are also adopting some of his ideas they abandoned.
