Some of you 'apostates' really do fantasize about the demise of the organisation. The Watchtower isn't going to shut down or quietly disappear any time in the next 50 years plus, any more than the Mormons will, or the 7th Day Adventists or Christadelphians will. Each religion has their own unique market share based on their unique brand and religious product that appeals to their consumer market segment. It's all opium, ear-tickling, religious food for fantasy. It doesn't matter which one you're in, it fills a human need. That ain't gonna change anytime this century.

Provided the leadership don't tamper with their central core doctrines they they fiddle around operationally and with the fringe teachings to their hearts content, and the organisation will always exist.

What do you think abou that? Is yadda yadda 2 correct in this analysis? What is your reaction?

I think, yadda yadda 2 is incorrect in this respect. If history is our guide, Cult groups do not last very long. Some leadership from within may come up against each other over policies and should eventually end up with leadership struggles. I think, its going to be a matter of time before the Watchtower break up into various competing groups.

    wha happened?

Yes, I think so. One way might be to allow its members to join politics and also accept blood transfusion as an individual decision. However, doing so might attract some opposition from within.Haha, the Watchtower would be morphing like a caterpillar into whatever doctrine to more on.

Whatever they believe its the journey they are on.

They live for immediacy the now with peeping out to see the future(all the what ifs) but ignoring the past ( all the date changes) The wt is half the size it used to be and gives no credence to anyone elses thoughts.

It denies scholarship and has misquoted scholars and has continued to do so even when asked by said scholar to stop. then finally been taken to court over this misuse.. will the wts admit to this.. never! they are not possesed by a single thread of corportate humility.

But dont agonise your guts over this it is the journey they are on help each other be kind do random acts of kindness.

Personally? I wish my wife had given me a point % of the time in sex that she has put into the biddings of the WTS.

there will always be some,,but not keep growing as years ago, their "heyday" is over. There are still Christian Scientists but decreasing for years. There are Nazis and Communists still, but not like years ago, though they are not religions.

There many "end times" type of fringe groups religions that hardly exist after failed prophecies.

It's easy to sympathize with this view. If they find life on Mars, will that help bring them down?

or will it take a UFO on the White House lawn? How far can they go in denial of reality?

    We may find out.

Life on Mars? It just shows how Jehovah created life so abundantly that it could thrive even on planets we thought had no life!

Sorry, just trying out my JW response.

I don't think the JW's are going anywhere anytime soon but it is clear they might be in financial trouble somewhere down the road.
