If I was still a JW...I would have loved this new format. I don't think I every read a full Watchtower or Awake.. in the 30 years I was in the religion.

I wish they would just start inserting some "markers" in the articles so that we would know where to start and stop the 'highlighting" For example,
_______
We must realize, and when we say "WE" , we mean "YOU" (the first we lol) and don't ever forget it.
{start Highlight A} yadda, yadda yadda, we speak for God and don't forget it, yadda some more{stop Highlight A} So evidently brothers, we know what
God is thinking even before he shares it with us, as it were.
___________
Or just start Highlighting the info for us while printing it.
HA,. I would imagine there are some if told that the WTBTS was going to start highlighting the articles of them, they would believe it and see it as a blessing from Jehovah.

I always used to wonder about filler articles in Awake entitled things like, "Interesting Insects of Brazil."
I'd wonder how taking things like that door-to-door could be considered part of a life saving work.
Obviously, I wasn't grateful enough for the slave's provision...

A JW relative of mine noted that the print was in a larger font. They were able to put that together with the reduction in pages and come to a conclusion that they (the WTS) are suffering the same thing as the major print media companies... people are going digital and that printed periodicals are slowly going extinct. They seemed to grasp the realization that the WTS is not immune. It seemed to be a moment of clarity for them.

Fed-up
Yes...
Jehovah's Witnesses are dismayed at the 16 page Awake magazine.
It means they will have to read for two life times for the equivalent of a four year college degree. Or, GB/FDS 2.0 realized that the 32 page Aquack magazine was making the Dubs too intelligent and well informed, thus cutting the pages in half was the only way to keep control. In all honesty, I can live without articles like "A Close Shave, How to Get One" and "Andre and his Burro, Their Search for True Freedom". For the past 10 years or so I've only thumbed through to see if I recognize anyone.
It's so stupid. The hand writing is on the wall and it's being ignored. Won't it be great when Awake starts selling advertising space? Stoops and that lady who paints the animals with the big eyes will definitely sign up. It's got to be a kick in the pants when they realize that the people who read, study and scrutinize the mags the most are apostates on this site. As for the internet, for 15 years they inextricably linked it with all things evil (porn, chat, apostasty, materialism, gadgets, calculators (please see g76 9/8)). They know they have opened a can of worms here...
Getting more and more Fed-up every day...

THE GLADIATOR
life is to short "I asked what the service group thought of them and my husband said the of those that were out in service they were very excited saying that the slave had given them more room with the wider margins to take notes and that is so loving of the faith ful slave to give them so much room."
Why don't they just give them a blank pad and some crayons so they can dream-away without hindrance ?

I WILL plagiarize that one!

wha happened?
honestly it could be a 2 page pamphlet and the dubs will just eat it up. I see it all going to tract work in the future. It serves so little purpose except guilting the rank and file to donate money for all the placements they aren't going to make. I'm still throwing out old mags from time to time as I find them

In our house they just got a contemptuous sniff and "I don't know what The Society is coming to these days"
