This site used to be pretty tough. Believe it or not, Farkel was one of the nicest posters then. They wouldn't tolerate inane chitchat. It was all serious business then. Now, it's quite balanced, thank God (Simon).

This site spews out more valuable information on any subject keyed into the search box

than any of the new 16 page public magazines will ever regurgitate from the WTBTS vault.

It counteracts the psychotic reading of the WTBTS publications immensely.

I am older and wiser and less tolerant of fanaticism, religious or any other. In my earlier years of being on this site, I had a respect for the bible. I still do to a point but not having it shoved down my throat.

All religion is a racket as far as I am concerned.

I have changed since being here.

Yes, quite a lot!

There are stories here

Some funny, some sad.

When there's an unkind word

I often get mad.

But some other times

when tales told are too tall,

I admit I do laugh

And really have a ball!

I have been kissed by a monkey,

I have argued with a King,

Who told me the world was not my oyster

And other such things.

Mrs. Jones doesn't say much,

But when she does it's good to listen!

And Mouthy is Sweet Granny Grace;

Running hot like a piston.

I've played " 4 words" with a Wonder Woman

And "Word of the Day" with Nancy Drew.

There are so many here that I like;

Dragon Ziddina- a naughty FOOSD!

Then there's Leslie- an escapee,

NC and elderelite,

And there's Glander's "pootleticker" obsession,

And Theo Sed's cleavage of feet!

I am still thinking, "Still Thinking"-

So don't worry none.

I still have lots of learning

Before I am done.

Have been reading Maisel,

Hitchens and more;

I know my critical thinking skills

Cannot be ignored.

But, all in all

I must confess-

I have little regretted;

Though I have been suppressed!

I have grown so much since first finding this site. I don't know if I started lurking in 1999 or 2000 (when did this site start). But I remember lurking a long time before I had the courage to post.

When I first started I definitely knew that the WTBS was not for me...but did not know why. Well when I started reading post from Simon, Redhorsewoman, Larc...cannot remember all of the names. But I was amazed that people all over the world had the exact same experience. So this gave me the courage to read COC (didn't even know about the book prior to visiting the site). After that the blinders fell completely off...my suspicions about the Borg since I was a 5 year old child feeling awful in kindergarten because the teacher gave me a stupid clown to color instead of making beautiful Xmas trees. I really always HATED being raised a JW.

....well now I really cannot remember all of the JW beliefs, when I'm around them, I cannot believe how corny and juvenile they come across.

I'm now a churchgoing, casino loving, mother of a Army Soldier, gun owning, business owner, divorcee, proud grandmother faded JW. And I'm loving life. I have 2 sons in College, my nephew is Class President, on the soccer team. My neice is on the dance team, just had her first kiss @ 13, another niece just received a scholarship to attend a great private catholic school. Yes...this sound like normal stuff to Worldlies...but to a faded JW this is FREEDOM!!! AND PEACE!!!

And I thank Simon for this life changing site!!! My family is so grateful...you changed the course of the next generation for my family for the BEST!!! Bless You and your wife (I forgot her name..sorry) and everyone who help make this site GREAT!!!
