To accept your arguments, I can't put faith in what you say, I need evidence Jesus was not born of a "virgin". I need evidence God does not exist, can you prove of "double negative" too?

    mP:

Dont believe a single thing i say check for yourself, but if you want bible and other pointers feel free to ask. I will address this below. I think you have confused my statement. There is no prophecy that the Messiah will be born of a Virgin. Matthew was reading the Septuagent which incorrectly says virgin in Isaiah, while the original Hebrew says maiden. Of course if you want to be sure, i would suggest you do some reasearch and confirm that this is the only verse is the source of the prophecy. Anyway i will quote from the NWT. You might want to read 15-17 for some context. http://www.jw.org/en/publications/bible/isaiah/7
14 Therefore Jehovah himself will give ? YOU ? men a sign: Look! The maiden herself will actually become pregnant, and she is giving birth to a son, and she will certainly call his name Im?man′u?el. 15 Butter and honey he will eat by the time that he knows how to reject the bad and choose the good. 16 For before the boy will know how to reject the bad and choose the good, the ground of whose two kings you are feeling a sickening dread will be left entirely. 17 Jehovah will bring against you and against your people and against the house of your father days such as have not come since the day of E′phra?im’s turning away from alongside Judah, namely, the king of As?syr′i?a.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_birth_of_Jesus Matthew then states: "That which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit", [ 1:20 ] in fulfillment of the prophecy of the prophet: "A virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." [ Mt. 1:22-23 ] Scholars interpret "prophet" as a reference to Isaiah 7:14 . [30] Some 5th and 6th century manuscripts read "Isaiah the prophet". [31]

Find things were Paul speaks of Jesus Christ, use any tool you like"

1 Timothy 1:12-13-And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man." Paul thank's Christ Jesus.

Luke "the physcian" must have interviewed the Apostle Paul and others who were at the "Blasphemy Charge" Paul had to endure as he recounts how Jesus Christ came to him and changed his life to work good to the Christian community.

    "

    • Acts 26:14-18-"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads...I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witnessboth of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me."

Take each one of these scriptures so nicely written by this Christian author who addresses the untruth that Paul and Jesus were not aquianted, or does Paul's writings contain Jesus concepts from his Gospels. Just be honest and don't disagree for the sake of disagreements.

    AA - @punk-of-face:

I think Jesus is not going to burn you forever, even though you have a face "only a mother could love"! Punk, I thought we were passed belief in some type of eternal torment, why can't we take along the good things we learned in the Organization and put them in their proper sense.

Are you attempting WBT$ style 'ad hominem' with the face "only a mother could love"? you know, if you haven't got anything constructive to say then use insults. How typically religious! Obviously this was one of the ''good things'' you ''learned in the organization.''

I think Jesus is not going to burn you forever,

No he won't, Jesus doesn't exist...and even if he did he'd feel sorry for me because of my face.

Why do religious people get so touchy. 'kin' 'ell!

BTW. I hope you were only having a laugh with me. If so, I'll let you off.

There's a Jesus for everyone Punkofnice...and if you want to believe in Hell...you'll find that. If you want to believe in a paradise earth..it's there for you. If you want to believe in heaven...yup..in the bible. If you want to believe in armageddon...aha...you know where you'll find it. If you want to believe that woman should know their place...need I say more? If you want to believe homosexuality is a sin...this book is for you. If you want to believe in the rapture...well, it doesn't use that word, but you'll find it in there. If you want to believe Jesus and God are LOVE...ignore everything else in the bible.

That's the GREAT thing about the bible...it is all things to all people who want to believe that some or any of it is true. That's why its a best seller!

Take what you want...leave the rest.

Good luck with that! I think you might have more chance of winning the lottery...LOL

[edit] mP...If you don't mind, can I ask you a favour? Would you consider formatting your posts a bit differently? For some reason I have problems reading them because of the layout. So half the time I give up on who is saying what. Of course, it could be just me and my eyesight and no one else has this problem. But I do want to know what you have to say. So I find it frustrating.
