They are trying a work around. They are slowly walking away from the prophecies of the past. So slow no one will notice. But they are doing it. In very small amount's in order not to draw attention to their being wrong. Slowly slowly slowly. The. One day they will be all the way away from it and their history will be rewritten and they will say we never claimed to know anything special.

Finkel, what value is the Watchtower providing for any of their sheep? The Publishing Company's continuity is more important than the Publishers right to a happy life not filled with chronic anxiety and panic provided by all the False Alarms the Watchtower sends!

The Watchtower organization is a parasitic entity, figuratively speaking. With psychopathic traits. You can't try to understand it with "normal" human reasoning, that is sane. Why do they lie? Why do they exploit? Because they can, because that is the nature of the organization, as with all of these organizations. When it becomes nature, being honest, fair, caring simply is not possible, because that has become unnatural. That option is non existent, something they can't even begin to grasp. You are looking at something insane and trying to understand it with a sane mind.

The answer is simple. They would cease to exist.

Think about it for just a minute. If they told they don't know the answers, people would look elsewhere. They would lose members, (almost overnight), then...

Survival drives many instincts, both consciously and subconsciously, for both organisms and organizations alike.

It is a bit shocking to realize how much lies and corruption the WTS built up the organization but as done4good says people got allured into the organization from those doctrines which were falsely but intensionally created.

Exploiting people's fears and insecurities worked and the leaders preconceived that they would work.

POKER PLAYER PHILL- It's a pretty easy reason why the WT leaders don't come clean and admit fault. They are evil and arrogant assholes. Pretty much comes down to that. And the fact that in order to keep their billion $$$$ organization going they have to create " new light " to keep a proverbial carrot dangling in front of 8 million unsuspecting JW's. The carrot is called, " you will live forever in Paradise earth and never die or get sick where everybody will grow younger again. " People buy into this $hit like kittens lapping up cream in a saucer. Doesn't make it real though. People thrive on fantasy and being deluded

The leadership is too insulated and self-adulating to openly admit to error. There are politicians who could easily be members of the Governing Body.

When I was growing I had an uncle who was a pastor and I just loved Daniel and Revelations. Being a student of the bible he told me it is really interesting stuff but there is also a danger in it. If all your ministry becomes is “ end times “and“ nutty biblical prophecy” you should watch out. There are literally so many theories of what it wall means ( especially Revelations) and they are basically impossible to prove or disprove.

JW prey on peoples stupidity giving them a sense of superiority because they it all figured out. They don’t really understand it, just that they are right and everyone is wrong. It is the ultimate in arrogance.

The ironic part is the more you actually study with the JW , the more you realize the entire theology is just a castle built on sand with a parable that is somehow a prophecy, a date out of thin air 1919, a number that is so obvious been worked back into 1914, a few revisions in the NWT and a bunch of symbolic stuff in revelations.

Too any serious student of the bible , it is just laughable.
