Simon Morley,
So true.
Open Mind made an observation concerning that article .....
Not a huge point, but notice they don't say the Faithful & Discreet Slave or the Governing Body got it wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses got it wrong. That could include individual JWs with their own unofficial timetables.
Once again the GB points the finger away from themselves by being evasive to who were the direct ones involved in proclaiming
all of the organizations " End Time " prophecies. It wasn't anyone but themselves to be accountable upon their own actions, particularly
relieving themselves from guilt or fault.

Are you kidding? Not only is that a HUGE POINT, it is THE POINT!
Duh
They are being forced to admit they have been wrong because of thier negative internet image.
When calling on people in thier homes, many people will just google Jehovah's Witnesses if they show some interest because the internet has become a house hold tool in most countries today.
LOVE ALL YOUR COMMENTS about "wrong expectations".

IS IT LATER THAN YOU THINK
Still some persons may say: "How can you be sure? Maybe it is later than many people think. But
maybe it is not as late as some persons claim. People have been mistaken about these prophecies
before." The Difference? True, there have been those in times past who predicted an "end to the
world,"
Still some persons may say: “How can you be sure? Maybe it is later than many people think. But
maybe it is not as late as some person’s claim. People have been mistaken about these prophecies
before.” The Difference? True, there have been those in times past who predicted an “end to the
world” even announcing a specific date. Some have gathered groups of people with them and fled
to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end. Yet, nothing happened. The “end”
did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?
Missing was the full measure of evidence required in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Missing from
such people were God’s truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them. But what about
today? Today we have the evidence required, ALL OF IT. And it is overwhelming. All the many,
many parts The build-up to the above claims is over the top arrogant. We need truth squads like they had in South Africa. We need a site devoted to the stories of how screwed up their lives have become. And the Watchtower needs to grant amnesty to anyone who has been disfellowshipped for disagreeing with their teachings.
Simon Morley: By their own rules they are unrepentant as the "degree of deviation should be commensurate with the degree of regret". I do not see anything remotely resembling the regret over the harm caused.
Yeah if a R&F publisher tried that kind of "apology" in an Judicial Hearing, they'd be labeled unrepentant faster than you can say "Overlapping Generation!"
No matter what you say, just wait on Jehovah.
