How can I "go back" when I never left?
I was kicked out. Even then, I never left God, just the organization. Oh, that's right. In the mind of a JW, Jehovah IS the organization. Silly me.
Q: What kind of person returns to an organization that expels them?
A: A co-dependent enabler!
Probably my mom. A while back she sent my wife a copy of the WT article in the mail about 607 BCE (addressed to my wife since she's only faded, not DF'd like me - apparently good ol' Mom might jeopardize her everlasting life ™ if she wrote her own son's name on the envelope) since she knows that's one of the things that "stumbled" me.
I used to hear various witnesses say that 90% of DF'd witnesses come back. I specifically remember the 90% figure used. I wonder where they got it from or if they just made it up. I don't think it's ever been in print, and I doubt it's true, although just based on my own personal experience it seemed like people were always getting reinstated and at any given time there were always a couple of DF'd people at my hall who attended.
Yeah, I am sure the JWs at my old KHs are still keeping the light on for me, 24 years later--

Sure. I try and keep it that way. I just have this wee problem they might be able to help me understand .......
My mom did. I don't think she ever gave up hope. My aunt always gives me the "when are you coming back?" thing at family funerals. I suspect a few of the dubs that I know from way back also harbour that hope - they keep calling on me and leaving me mags.
Funny, when I was DF'd and hurting, the prodigal son WT came out, with the statement about how the father ran to meet his son when he saw him from afar. Didn't work that way for JWs, tho.
Well if they read the scriptures - they threw a party for the prodigal son. In JW land you are not even allowed to clap.
While the prodigal was a long way off, the father ran to greet him according to the scriptures.
In JW land you have to grovel and attend meetings for about 6 months then beg to be reinstated.

I had a few say stuff to me at first that was inviting me back, the last guy who called in, wanting a favour from me, but bless him , he offered to pick me up and take me to the K.H anytime I wanted, I told him that I had educated myself way beyond the JW's, I knew too much now, and you cannot unlearn.
He was surprised, and I have heard no more since from him or others.
