you ca'nt deny the many bible truths we have learned so how can the wt society have been so wrong about the "end"?

one can accept the reason why it did'nt come in 1975, "jehovahs wants people to worship him out of love and not for a date"

but it should have come by the late 1980's . the 1914 generation and the "original" annointed were about to expire. well we are told jehovah does.nt have a plan but a fullfilling purpose, so i think jehovah got ticked off about something and is making us "wander in the wilderness' another 40 years! it makes alot more sense than the overlapping generations crap.

the many bible truths we have learned

Please elaborate on one of these truths.

My own experience has been that it was all a pack of lies.

Isn't it far more likely that the whole WT "biblical" date system -- 1874, 1914, 1925, 1942, 1975, etc. -- is based on false premises and the adding of irrelevant, unrelated dates and numbers?

After all, the WTS is great at sounding knowledgeable about something and later making totally contradictory statements that sound just as knowledgeable.

    Cases in point:

-- Jesus' invisible "parousia" starting in 1874 (Russell)... no, 1914 (Rutherford).

-- 6,000 years of human existence ending in 1873 (Russell)... no, 1975 (Franz).

-- The end coming in 1914 (Russell)... no, 1925 (Rutherford)... no, 1975, maybe (Franz)... no, no one knows (current).

-- The end coming within one generation of 1914 (Knorr and Franz)... no, within an overlapping "generation" after 1914 (current).

Many of us have experienced the same things in the past.

    Belief disconfirmation paradigm

Dissonance is aroused when people are confronted with information that is inconsistent with their beliefs. If the dissonance is not reduced by changing one's belief, the dissonance can result in restoring consonance through misperception, rejection or refutation of the information, seeking support from others who share the beliefs, and attempting to persuade others.

An early version of cognitive dissonance theory appeared in Leon Festinger's 1956 book, When Prophecy Fails. This book gives an account of the deepening of cult members' faith following the failure of a cult's prophecy that a UFO landing was imminent. The believers met at a pre-determined place and time, believing they alone would survive the Earth's destruction. The appointed time came and passed without incident. They faced acute cognitive dissonance: had they been the victim of a hoax? Had they donated their worldly possessions in vain? Most members chose to believe something less dissonant to resolve reality not meeting their expectations: they believed that the aliens had given earth a second chance, and the group was now empowered to spread the word that earth-spoiling must stop. The group dramatically increased their proselytism despite the failed prophecy. [7]

Is there not a contradiction If Jehovah can not lie, and the organization is being used by Jehovah?

Either, Jehovah CAN lie, or the organization is not being used by him!

Which one do you think it is?

That's an excellent description of how they work.

Hard to debate someone who uses such logical fallacies. The term 'bible truth' is an oxymoron. They most certainly can be denied.

seriously! you can use your facts and logic to prove anything! and Ding, thanks for the comparison. one man believed one thing, another believed another... simple as that. both were wrong.
