I would appreciate answers on this from elders or former elders .
Speaking to a young unbaptized Witness, he said that he'd like to get baptized ASAP, but he would have to achieve a return visit or two on his report before that could happen.
When I asked him what made him think that, he said that that was what the elders had told his sister to do, before she could get baptized.
Is this standard practice by elders?
Haven't they read Acts 2:38 to find out what qualifies a person for baptism? Or do they think the Ethiopian eunuch was doing return visits in Jerusalem, before Phillip baptised him?
'Going beyond the things' written springs to mind.
