My main reason for walking away from the JW religion is what I found on the internet in the year 2000. What I learned confirmed my suspicions about them plus the U.N. scandal which really shocked me. But, before that, the 1995 changed teaching on Generation turned me off totally, I just hung around like a zombie for a few years more until I went online. Then it was over.
Even if I had not found out what I did on the internet, I would have probably walked away because I was determined to stay on the "fringes" and limit my association so as not to be damaged by the religion or the people in it.
I had no intention of being victimized by "users" who had single women or responsible working people in their sights, so it was hopeless. Even though I had a few friends, most of the people are phonies so it is no loss, really.
