Just a thought to make you go ... "...hmmmmm..."
Why would they announce a C.O. (or D.O. for that matter) DF'ing in the congregations of the C.O.'s circuit? He does not really 'belong' to any of them. Do the announce the DF'ing of an individual to all KH's - or just the one where the person's card is at? (...or perhaps an additional kh, if the individual attends more than one?)
With the C.O., I think that any DF'ing - if it occurs - would only be announced among the higher-ups - I.E. the elders - or whatever term they use these days.
The only way that other folks might find out would be 'through the grapevine' as was mentioned above with regards to another C.O. being DF'ed.
Just my .02 worth.
Regards,
Jim TX

That is true. But I do recall several times in the past where it was read in more than one congregation when the person was very well known to people in that particular congregation.
If indeed the letter was read to numerous congregations, I would suspect that it was an apostacy issue, not just thinking with the wrong head.

Morning team,
I have received a PM advising that this is not a rumour and that the name of the CO is Ray McDonald. The PM goes on to say that the announcment was made "this week at all the local halls."
When I read the exchange about the UK CO on Reddit, I read it to be that the UK CO was Ray McDonald. Reading it again, in the light of the PM I have received, I think I misread the exchange and that the poster was in fact saying that the Aussie CO is Ray McDonald.
The original post saying the CO had been DF'd was made by a user called OmgU8MyRice. Later in the thread user NeonMadman01 asks "Do you have a name for this CO? There was a similar rumour recently in the UK but no name ever surfaced, and the rumour appears to be false."
OmgU8MyRice responds: "Ray McDonald. He was only young, about 35 I think. This is definitely not a rumour its just been announced at the congregation and has also been confirmed by bethel."
Like I said, I misread that to be that OmgU8MyRice was confirming / advising the name of the UK CO. But rereading it now, it makes sense that he was actually providing the name of the Aussie CO. This seems to be confirmed by the PM I have received.
So, locals to Central Coast NSW, do you have a CO there by the name of Ray McDonald?
The purpose of starting this thread was twofold. One, to seek confirmation. Two, to see if he may need some assistance. I can't imagine what it would be like to be that deep in the organisation and then to suddenly have nothing.
I have no interest in why he is "no longer one of Jehovah's Witneses" but whatever it was for, he's likely to be in a tough spot right now.

What a totally crap life being a CO or CO's wife. He will look back one day and count his lucky stars he was disfellowshipped at only 35.

I'm with Winston Smith on this (if the story is legit) - the CO could benefit from some support at a time like this, and would find many on JWN willing to listen, and/or advise.
We too would benefit from knowing more about him from those that knew him in the circuit.

Dont forget
he might bust his gut to get back in yet...he might remain convinced that the JWs have the 'truth'.
