it seems i am the only one aware of the pattern of false prophecies and mistakes by the society.

Victims of information control. The under 40 generation may have a vague idea of 1975, but probably no idea about 1925. But these ones were told over and over growing up that the "generation that saw 1914 will by no means pass away" and yet that has happened right in front of their eyes. New light excuses anything their leaders get wrong, its a damn near perfect setup.

Add to that cult conditioning and they literally can't see the forest through the trees. All they know is faithful slave, last days, Armageddon soon, its time for meeting, its time for service....

and the final nail....where else would they go?

Searcher, I have a question. Please do not think I am being argumentative. You assume that having love for your brothers would mean no war for God's true religious organization. Is it showing love to allow 6 million of your Jewish brothers to be innocently murdered by His and Her government while you sit on your hands? Would it show love to sit on your hands while a foreign Army invaded, killed, and raped your neighbors. I always had issues with the WTBS position on military neutrality.

They like to use he who lives by the sword as evidence, but that doesn't make sense. He who lives my the motorcycle will probably die by the motorcycle. I think it was a proverbial comment by Christ and not a commandment.

Do they not know the first Gentile ever was a Roman Soldier? He was an officer for the Roman Army. (The same army that carried out Christ's Death Order) The only way to get out was death. They didn't have a nice comfortable pension. No where did it say he had to resign his commission. He just became a Christian. These guys were not the soldiers we are accustomed to today. They were vicious, killers who took no prisoners and would torture people for fun. Cornelius was one of the ones in charge of them. Why would the Apostles mention his job if it wasn't important. They could have said he was an employee of the republic, but they didn't. The apostles knew nations had raged wars for a long time and would rage wars in the future. They knew a nation that did not protect its borders could never be allowed to safely exist. If Catholics never fought in wars England would never existed. If Protestants never fought in wars England would never existed. So on and so on. If it was wrong for a member of God's true organization to be a member of the military. It would not allow everyone in the country to worship. A nation has to have an army or they will not be left alone. The world needs soldiers for peace and the apostles knew this.

    Concerning War:

I would think that if you were part of the Military, or Police, which are all under the umbrella of the " Superior Authorities " then you are part of a system that YHWH allows to operate as an alternative to chaos. My conscience forbids me to be part of the Military. What if I had not been raised a dub? I probably would have enlisted. I personally feel that it is wrong to disrespect people who are part of the Superior Authorities. Just watch some foriegn and un-edited news broadcasts of people being stoned, raped or beheaded. I am glad the authorities in my country fuction as well as they do. Also judging others is above my pay grade.

Sorry, that question was not really directed to me, but that is my opinion.

    To the original poster:

If you are a JW, you are simply not allowed to disagree with current light, period. There are some 1980's letters to the BOE that specifically state that you must believe what you are told. If you hold a private belief you can be considered an apostate. If you speak of your belief, then even more so. It's a crap-shoot that depends on your local BOE, and CO. You will be targeted in some fashion if the BOE get so much as a whiff of dissention or doubt. BELIEVE ME.

It is not so much their being unaware of the falsehoods and mistakes, because they are. Instead they have been programmed to believe that they don't matter.

They know that the early Bible Students and the writings of J Rutherford had some wild and wacky teachings. They have lived through the doctrinal changes of the last 3,4 or 5 decades - and viewed each one as progress . They chuckle about the fact that they have spent their lives expecting "The End" and it now probably will not come in their lifetime...

They keep believing , they are afraid to give room in their brains to any thought that it could all have been in vain. So they carry on and on and on.......
