Good Deal Dakota Red! you and I share the same beliefs, even if the bible turns out to be false loving others as you would your self makes a lot of sense and it does make life a tad easyer. The upside is if the bible is true well, you were doin what you were supposed to be doin after all!..............Jedd

Well, Doc, I have to say that historically, Christianity is one of the worst beliefs there was. So many have screwed the Bible up and used it to dominate others. I am not so sure that reading the Bible will even provide salvation, depending on how you interpret it. I have seen Atheists that practice more true Christianity and love than many so called Christians. Pagans too. In the end, I leave it up to God as who goes where and when. I agree with the JWs denial of a fiery hell, but question if anyone gets to go to heaven at all.

Much like radical Islam is doing today, missusing the Qu'Ran to justify their slanted view of the world and imposing terror on others, Christians have done for centuries with the Bible. White Supremacists, the KKK, any other radical groups have misused the Bible to justify their bigotry and lynching of innocent Blacks in thie country. Many still do. Religions have misinterpreted it to to make themselves superior to others and evenb justified the slaughter of possibly millions throughout the Inquisitions.

Still, I believe in the Bible and have exerted great effort to dig into the original meaning of passages, not an easy task as I do not speak or read Ancient Greek or Hebrew. I have been trying to read the New Testament from a Jewish perspective, since it was predominatly written by Ancient Jews. It has given me a clearer outlook and I firmly believe that along with announcing God's Kingdom, Jesus also taught mostly to love each other. Most likely, I will go to my grave still seeking answers, but what have I to lose? If it is all made up, I simply die and am gone. If it is mostly true, then maybe I have gained salvation? Like I said, I have nothing to lose and along the way, maybe I can make others feel better and show them love and kindness and entice them to spread it to others.

If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?

Jesus promoted this which I love; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Always treat people the way you "want" to be treated.

One thing I just never got about christianity is the usual "dont worry god loves you" refrain. Never helped me. Never gave me any comfort. Dont worry about your problems "god loves you just the way you are"...blah blah blah.

Christianity, to me, puts too much emphasis on an after life...as if this life dont matter.

on a person, they have never met...

Not if one IS a christian, as the word truly means: one chosen (by an anointing with holy spirit). In that instance, such one has come to KNOW the Christ, personally, just as such one is known BY the Christ. Personally, intimately... literally.

"THIS means everlasting life, their coming to KNOW you, the true God, AND the One whom you sent forth."

For one cannot know the Father, nor are they known BY the Father, except THROUGH the Son... the mediator.

Did Jesus ever exist you ask?
How many who responded here has really dug into this subject?

This bothered me for a long time and I wanted a answer with some PROOF.

I went to a Christian bookstore and looked around for a book on the subject of the authenticity of the Bible.

I was shown a book called "EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT " by Josh McDowell.

It has a chapter in it on why we can believe in a historical and biblical Jesus.

If it is truly a matter of life or death to know.......why not investigate it more....and pray about it....even if your not sure you believe.

    hi gumby,

It has a chapter in it on why we can believe in a historical and biblical Jesus.
i believe JC existed...he just wasn't the son of god. Just one of many around at the time who thought they were.

If it is truly a matter of life or death to know.......why not investigate it more....and pray about it....even if your not sure you believe.
    hmmm

see...a god that will execute me or anyone else for unbelief can eat my jocks. thats my honest feeling. I mean, what kind of god is that. A god that is so desperate to be aknowledged and yet at the same time hides him/herself so well just doesn't make sense to me.

    you said:

Truth is truth even from the Devil.
If the devil is capable of truth wouldn't J be capable of lying?

Or did you mean the "truth(TM)"?
