Adaptation is evolution: do you deny this?
S
No, is not.
How are they different?
My English is limited so let me explain it with an example. I'm from a tropic island with warm weather all year round. I live in Massachusetts, where winter is extreme, so I adapt to living in this climate having an insulated and heated house and wearing clothes that protect me from the weather. I've adapted, but none of my physiology and anatomy has changed. Therefore, evolution may be closely related to adaptation, but not the same.
What happened to the ancestors of the domestic is far from the adjustment you have just described.
You have changed your behaviour to adjust to the different temperatures. That is not adaptation.
You haven't physically adapted, you've altered your environment to suit conditions. That example in no way explains how physiological adaptions in organisms is different from evolution.
marking to come back later and read...thanks
- adjust- Princeton's WordNet
adjust, conform, adapt(verb)
adapt or conform oneself to new or different conditions
Synonyms:
adapt, set, accommodate, align, aline, adjust, correct, line up, conform
-suit-

be agreeable or acceptable to
Synonyms:
go, conciliate, outfit, suit, fit, gibe, admit, fit out, equip, hold, meet, agree, adapt, check, match, tally, correspond, jibe, oblige, lodge, accommodate, reconcile, become, befit, conform to, beseem
So like it or not, your words "adjust" and "suit" after all is adapt.
You were the one saying that evolution is not adaptation.
You have created a strawman.
And IS NOT. Now, who did create a strawman?? YOU!!!
