It Appears The Elderly Are More Taken Care Of Then Ever Before By The Elders

That may be so. However, it seems to me in my HALL they pick and choose who they want to assist and not necessarily those that NEED and/or REQUIRE assistance, but they are elderly.

I have heard wonderful things that Elders and congregations do to take care of eachother, It is a beautiful thing. However, they are still a CULT.

Many elderly have no children because they've been waiting for the "real life" to have a family in a perfect world.

Or perhaps their children have "left the truth" and disfellowshipped and they shunned them so that their children haven't had contact for years.

Or because these elderly ones sacrificed their lives to a publishing Corp. and have no money or resources and little governmental assistance.

Yes, the elders of Jehovah's Witnesses are wonderful. At least, that is what I hear.

Sometimes, I wish they would be less wonderful and more compassionate towards all of those in the congregation before an elderly one is left to their own defenses or before a distraught one is condemned for being weak or a gay one is ostracized.

    One more thing...

How sad that the Holy Spirit hasn't been able to work out all the loopholes on how to be Christ like in their dealings with the flock. Oh, well, I guess because they are imperfect men and they ARE A CULT!!!

Some halls are better than others. Most JWs have a good heart, but a messed up head.

Glad to hear they are checking in on your mom

Many elders and pioneers will visit shut ins and elderly during field service and count time while doing so.

Its a great way to get out of the elements and not have to preach .

Alos many elders try to get elderly to leave their money to the cult .

    I've seen this myself

In my hall, one elder has visited my mum, in assisted living and now nursing home.

He was very vexed when she did not show much interest in the phone hookup for the meetings, gave up for a while.

The COBE has never called her, or stopped by.

But then this COBE never looks me or my wife in the eye, or offers a hello; he walks by.

It is kinda funny, really; I do my best to get his attention just to see him avoid us!

I think it depends on the cong. The cong I was in the elders were too busy to make a call except maybe once a year. The BOE even assigned an elder to check on the elderly, poor brother could not handle it.

My mom was looked after pretty good by the Cong, they didn't forget her like so many other stories I've read here.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad that your mom receives that kind of assistance.

And they should assist regardless if an elderly or ill person is "difficult". That is the one of the duty's of a good Shepherd and any who claim to follow Christ and follow in His footsteps; that should be the usual and not the unusual.

So what. They get an eagle badge. Why is eveyone so interested in helping elderly people who are sitting on a pile of cash and live in a 4 bedroom house while their children pay high social security taxes and can't even pull together a down payment for a house.

Only goes to show that despite being misled, many of the members of the cult are generally kind and good people, and they will extend this kindness to the limits where the Org allows them.
