I am getting a tatoo soon, it will be of a colorized version of the fox relief from Goblekki Tepe.

"On the tv program, they said the missing heads suggested representation of nondivinity."

On the other hand(no pun intended) the roof structure could have been made of timber which sat on these pillars. Quite a nice depiction of the godhead with each pillar representing differing facets....

    That will be nice.

Yah, there are some round holes in some of those pillars that suggest roof beams. I am trying to find the reference that the tv program made about the headless human stylized columns and nondivinity.

Wow those are amazing Satanus... didn't realize how large

those pillars were, until I saw the man standing beside one!

Was archaeology always one of your interests or only lately?

Makes you wonder how JW's could say, with a straight face,

mankind has been around only 6000 yrs, ..

oh wait, that would be aeons now!

Thanks, clarity. Yah, those things are huge. I mainly just like to understand things. You know, like how we developed. How things fit into the big picture. Archeology is a part of that.

That pic where the guy appears to be beside it, he is really behind by quite a distance. So, the hieght is exagerated.

    Parakeet

It's only 28 miles from syria, if i remember right. There's actually a heck of a lot to see and do in turkey. It has a mix of really old and new culture, greek, arabic.... Check out some of the music as well. It's across the board mediterranean style.

If you're going to armenia, too, there is some interesting archeology there, too at nemrut. I put some pics up at http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/241880/23/Post-God-Goddess-Pics-Here Have a good trip, but be careful. Lots of scammers in turkey in the nightclubs and such.

Satanus I wonder what will come with closer inspections of Gobe Tiki.

Strangely enough, I was reading a book where the author was sitting at a lecture done by a old Native American man. He said when he was a child, his grandfather sat him down in front of a beaver dam all day. At the end of the day, "What did you learn my grandson?" Learning from the animals and how Nature opperates is becoming a lost art, as the maniacs in the Rain Forest and dense jungles are changing "green for cement and polluted air and water". I wonder what the Chinese are learning from their "pitch black skies, acid-rain and black rivers of deadly chemicals"?

I liked your post and how you reflected on the story and your insights. That was enjoyable! I do not like the "hey read this" clip and pasters with no comments. Their posts must not be worth our effort if they can't explain why they liked the story they wrote. Good story!

Thanks, arboles. I appreciate that. We can still learn from nature. There's lots more to learn at that site, too. The builders would fill in previous structures and build new ones on top. So, it seems that there is more at lower levels. Lower levels would be even older, of course.
