Thanks Satanus ! I have been interested in the site for a while now, and I am fascinated by the possibilities, especially of more to discover underneath.

Already of course the age of this "temple" knocks the Bible timeline, ( much beloved by people like Larsinger on here), into a cocked hat.

As without doubt man created god, it is a distinct possibility that this structure pre-dates the concept of divine spirits. To be motivated to do all the work involved these hundreds of people, some perhaps slaves, but many supporters, must have believed it would bring them some huge benefit, perhaps bringing about a greater union between man and the other animals, if so it worked, because agriculture and the domestication of animals followed.

The Gobei temple shows that it seems religion and civlization have come down over the ages "hand-in-hand" to a point that it is virtually impossible to confirm who beget whom.

The carvings MAY represenmt Gods or at leats the worhsip of animals OR they may simply be a demonstration of veneration fopr those animals.

    We may never know.

Schmid sees himself as the authority in enterpreting the meanings of the carvings and pillars. He states that the pillars w the arms and hands mean 'makers', gods of some kind. Being that this site is far and away the oldest 'temple' ever, it is a new field for archeology. Studies of it will develop. Other minds will come in on the subject. It takes yrs.

Higher Learning is evil clarity! Higher Education leads to "butt-chugging beer", binge drinking and lots of sex with a different man and woman every night, sometimes three students at once with orgies!

thank you satanus for putting that up. somewhere I got the idea that the oldest circles were the most elaborate. the later once were only a shadow of the of the former glory?

is this the fate of the latter day support and pillar of truth the WT BtS too with fewer meetings, fader numbers surpassing baptism, tractazines?

Wt and Awake (golden age) were called Journals from the french JOUR = day, now they are monthlies from Moon like in Lunatic.

At least the old Turks used stone these turkeys only paper.

Thanks for sharing - I love this stuff - should have followed my dream and become an archaeologist **side note - damn you watchtower scum** I have gone and read up quite a bit about this site now. It seems there is a bit of debate if it's actually a temple or not (not that that really matters) What matters is that it predates even the pyramids and shows that man was somewhat skilled, intellegent etc.

Heck, it could have been a place where the guys liked to come and hang out, shoot the breeze, drink beer, whittle on the columns, compare their goddess statues....

Should be, since the further back you go, the more closer to perfection humans were. They didn't even need levels or measuring tapes, since, w their nearly perfect eyes, they could tell exactly how long or how level something was. NOT. Some of those carvings are still pretty good. You should check out jomon pottery. It's even older than this.
