Wow Rob, you left as the WT machine was cranking up for 1975. I give you a lot of credit.

It was reading Studies in the Scriptures and Millions Now Living Will Never Die that finished it off for me.

1975 was a great year for me. Late the year before, I went to University - much older, of course than most undergraduates. When I was leaving Manchester to go up to Lancaster, my mother gave me a parting gift - a diary for the next year - 1975. "You won't be able to use it all," she told me, "but at least you'll be able to use the first part."

And afterwards, of course, they all denied having said anything about Armageddon coming in that year.

yes--rob crompton--those of us around in the 60's / early 70's have long memories----and they now say 1975 was just rank and file hype.

I left the cult I was born-in to in 1980, while still a young teenager. Certain family members remain in this cult, and of course, that creates problems for those around them, including yours truly. So the Watchtower remains an issue in my life, despite my escape from the Watchtower, 33 years ago.

I left in 2004. Was df'd for apostasy because I refused to dismantle my online Bible website. They took the most offense that my site recommended offering only the Bible instead of Watchtower literature.

Last meeting I think was in 2006 or so. I really can't remember as I used to go so my wife wouldn't sit alone.

    Late 70's for myself.

Came to the forum when a married JW couple in my home town were letting their (6) new borns die from not letting the doctor's proceed

giving the babies blood transfusions because of their medical condition.

It wasn't until two of the babies died when thankfully the government stepped in and took the remaining into custody toward the doctors care,

I believe the remaining babies survived.
