I also remember a time when a sister raised her had to comment and started singing kingdom melodies when the mic got to her

Absolutely f**ing hiliarious! How many verses did they let her sing? She's just one of the many nuts and bolts that consider themselves one of Jehovahs happy people !!

Not long after it became permissable to accept organ transplants one sister raised her hand at the Watchtower Study and commented, "Well, I would get a kidney transplant or I would get a liver transplant, but I wouldn't get a heart transplant." We wanted her to get a brain transplant.

@Caleb: The elder might have been trying to decide whether/how to correct her. I once witnessed a WT study conductor pause for an unbelievable amount of time after a wrong answer was given. I can't give details in a non-private forum, but let's say that it was a sensitive subject in the congregation. After what must have been 30 seconds of dead silence, the conductor just continued talking as if the comment hadn't been given. Most awkward pause I've ever been a part of.

@ShirleyW- She got pretty far if I recall. I can't remember which song she went with, but I do remember trying as hard as I could not to laugh. I was in middle school at the time. She was a pretty cooky lady. She always gave out that hard candy with the wrapper that looks like a strawberry to the kids. It would be all nasty from being in tthe bottom of her purse. She has since passed away, but while she was around, she sure made things a little less dull.

    Do not become unevenly yoked"

A person applied this to within the congregation to whom 'weren't spiritual enough' or didn't have some magnificent spiritual goals in life."

An elder, in a talk from the platform, I think it was the service meeting.

it was a talk about remaining clean, not watching worldly tv shows/movies. He gave an example of how on a recent night he visited a young married couple, he knocked on their front door.........and as one of them opened the front door, the other one turned the TV off!!!!

Now, brothers, why? Why? Would someone do something like that? What are you trying to hide? What was it on the TV that you didn't want anyone to see?

At this point, we are all daydreaming, naturally assuming this is a hypothetical example, made up to illustrate a point. But...

then he said ( in a voice heavy with implication ) isn't it interesting brothers and sisters......I don't see that young couple here at the meeting tonight!!!! Everyone went rigid, everyone knew who wasn't there, it was a small congregation!!

So wrong, that at the time I assumed that when he stepped off the platform he was probably going to be carted off to the loony bin, or at least be asked to step down. But, no, nothing happened to him, everyone got the message though ..... There's something wrong with that young couple. I wonder if anyone told them about it.

I felt so bad for them, it was slander, what that elder did, and everyone just sucked it up.

I remember thinking, isn't it good manners to turn the TV off when someone visits?

An elder said how will Jehovah and Jesus know your hours if you don't hand in a time report. The last CO said right from the platform it doesn't matter if the governing body is wrong, you listen to them for it means your life. An elders wife said that very same thing over a two year period at least a dozen times in her comments. An elder conducting the watchtower said our watchtowers are filled with holy spirit A cobe announced our new ms as I don't want anyone to think there was any simony here but so and so is now an ms

This was said when the CO was there during a WT study. An older sister said she didn't like gay people and she didn't like the fact that she couldn't tell who they were and that they needed to put a dress on so she could tell they were gay!! No one corrected her at all!
