Have you ever wondered why the GB do not have open, honest discussions with other religious adherents? Have you ever pondered over the reasons that rank & file dubs are told NOT to debate their beliefs with a householder? Certainly if someone's life depended upon your 5 minute presentation at their door, you would be eager to discuss your beliefs. Why aren't the GB/FDS taking the lead in publicly sharing " the truth " with everyone in a Pastor Russel style tour? Imagine how much territory the 8 GB/FDS could cover today in comparison with Russel. Instead they focus their efforts on further indoctrinating the already indoctrinated, and a " ministry " that takes years to convert 1 person, if successful.

The following video is an excellent example of why, IMO, the GB refuse to publicly defend their beliefs, and repeatedly counsel the R & F to walk away from any serious discussion of scripture. Why must the R & F stick to pre-written demonstrations and walk away if the householder is not interested in the " truth "? I believe the young man in this video shows why. The video is a little lengthy, but with good reason. Enjoy!

    Peace,

Very simply they are in a delusion, to admit the delusion is painfull with many repercussions for them. They only feel comfortable speaking among those that share the delusion and the leaps of logic they use to "factify" the delusion.

They speak with child like magical thinking that don't hold up to critical scrutiny, thier logic only works were every thing is black and white with no shades of gray.

With a fairytale child like understanding and Confirmation biased interpetation of the bible it is very hard to have or win a debate in support of a religious delusion.

Deep down, JWs, especially the leadership, must know that many if not most of their beliefs are untenable, and that any open-forum, freewheeling public debate would expose them to ridicule.

What Room 215 said. They cannot defend themselves from themselves.

In which case how deluded are they really ? they must really be dishonest with themselves as well as the rest of the world.

Has anyone watched it yet? The JW won't even show his face... I remember about 3 years ago I was contacted by an " apostate " through some weird circumstances. I did the standard thing that anyone would do, I did some research on my beliefs and responded via texting. He kept asking questions, and I kept doing research to defend what I was told was true, the only problem was... You know the rest.

I actually don't think the JW here does a terrible job, nor does he embarrass himself. He does however hide his identity, which is kind of sad. You cannot defend your faith without fear of reprisal from your faith?

    Yikes.

It's just a sad situation. I was at the meeting last night and I really love the people, it's just the situation. They worship the GB.
