    DATA-DOG,

I felt the same way when attending meetings. Sometimes I would imagine what would happen if the Society just went away and they adapted the Christian Freedom that mainline denominations have. Imagine all their energy at helping their neighbors and not trying to foist magazines on them.

Of course, sometimes the comments from some of them amounted to hate speech, the condemnation of outsiders and former members. The “Of course, we can’t stone people today, but we can certainly kill our association with them.”

They don’t realize that we don’t hate them, we love them. Those feelings are not mutual.

The gb would be eaten alive if they engaged in open discussion with educated people. There is so much Bs in their changing doctrines and history that just cannot be defended. Topics or questions that are embarassing are: false prophecies, organ transpalnts, blood fractions, beth sarim, chosen by Christ in 1919, olin moyles letter to Rutherford and lawsuit victory, alternative military service change and needless suffering, malawi-mexico scandal, ray franz incident, nwt distortions, misquoting scholars etc etc etc.

jws will engage people that are ignorant of the bible and answer their questions. But if they encounter anyone asking difficult questions as previously posted , they will stop the conversation and label the person as an opposer. Ignorant people are easier to recruit and convince.

They fear someone might rightly observe that Jesus, Paul and the apostles were not into dissecting doctrines (supremacist ethnocentrism - promoting religion).

Instead they advanced the full "Good News" or "unabridged gospel".

(Why do followers of the Watchtower religion call themselves “publishers of the Good News” whilst unfamiliar with the “Good News” according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms?)

Greg Stafford while a JW engaged in open debates with Christendom scholars and he came off looking very rosey.
