For this, you will need to consult the book Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy! (Unfortunately, I don’t think it can be found on JW.Org)

In the first exercise, review pages 141 to 143, and page 301.

    (1) Open Excel

    (2) In A1 enter: 6/21/1918

    (3) In A2 enter the formula: =A1-1260

In the second exercise, review pages 300 and 301.

    (1) In A1 enter: 1/18/1919

    (2) In A2 enter the formula: =A1+1290

In the third exercise, review pages 303-305, and page 301. (From what I can tell the book Deliverance was released during the convention that started on May 25, 1926—correct me if I’m wrong).

    (1) In A1 enter: 9/4/1922

    (2) In A2 enter: 5/25/1926

    (3) In A3 enter the formula: =A2-A1

    (4) Format A3 to Number

In the fourth exercise, review pages 177-179, and page 301.

    (1) In A1 enter: 6/1/1938

    (2) In A2 enter the formula: =A1+2300

Take 2 (since there are two begin dates are given)

    (1) In A1 enter: 6/15/1938

    (2) In A2 enter the formula: =A1+2300

    WHY IT MATTERS

Page 304, paragraph 28: With all these prophetic marks to identify “the holy ones of the Supreme One”, what excuse can there be for failure to recognize them and associate with them!

Here is a question for JWs: What if these "prophetic marks" don't add up?

For those who want to help plant seeds of thought in a JW’s mind, maybe this would get the wheels turning for some of them. If you are undercover, for instance, perhaps you could say something like:

“I was doing some personal study in the Daniel book. Can you try something for me in Excel to see if you’re getting the same results?” Then give them one of these exercises…just one. When they get back to you, give them another exercise, and so forth. Don’t make any conclusions for them.

If they say, “This is all deep stuff, it just goes over my head.” A good response may be, “It is deep…but this is of CRITICAL importance. According to page 304, the Slave tells us these prophetic markers are supposed to help identify the Organization as God’s only channel of communication with mankind—what could be more important than that? What results did you get? We need to be able to confirm this."

I believe these exercises are not complicated. It is just taking the Organization’s word when these periods began & end, and doing a little math to confirm it. The complicated details of the interpretation--the text for 1915, Rutherford and company going to jail, the 1922 convention held at an amusement park called Cedar Point, the Deliverance book—are all irrelevant for this. It does not need to be understood. Just a few Excel formulas.

It's much simpler than trying to tackle 607!

What is wrong here is the WTS had to abandon the "day for a year" application for the "1335 days" which apparently points to the date of the seconde coming. The WTS certainly cannot object to this understanding since the "1335 days" prophecy is the one they say was fulfilled when the 2nd coming was linked to 1874!!! So it's a no-brainer. Since they have the wrong chronology, they cannot apply the 1335 days correctly to the date of the second coming. It's just that simple.

After they messed up with the chronologyh for 1874, there was just no more applying "a day for a year." But, in actually, the 1335 days is fulfilled with 1290 years and 1335 years. But I'll post that info on another thread. The WTS is stuck with trying to make the 1290 days and 1335 days work with the wrong date of 1914 and it just doesn't work. Sorry.
