Can a J-Dub count time if he calls another J-Dub to bring him up to speed on the latest content displayed on the Information Board®?

Officially, of course not; however will a J-Dub (secretly) count time if he calls another J-Dub to bring him up to speed on the latest content displayed on the Information Board? Yes.

We had a local needs part last year on the information board. The brother handling the part asked if its a bulletin board, and all the older ones in hall shook their heads vehemently. Some of them even said out loud, no. Its all so petty. On the flipside, the announcements are so neutered that people need reminded to check the board for any and everything. You cant announce who cleans, cant announce a reminder to turn in your time, etc.. All the weight of information is being put upon group overseers nowadays. For everything else there's the information board.

Well, yeah. But let's give 'em a break: there really isn't anything to talk about, is there?

it just gets stupider and stupider.......but they've dumbed everything down to the point where there likely are those that need to be told to read the info posted...........truly sad...........

I agree with Tikil. A young brother had not looked at the board to see he had a talk that evening and when he was announced to go up he was clueless. That was the same evening an announcement was made that he was made an MS.

I think they have a self induced phobia for bulliten board because it is associated with the term "papal bull"

Yes the corporation wants a smooth running Kindom Indoctrination Center and everybody gotta read all the mundane bullshit for further indoctrination of who does what and when.

Let us control you but only if you keep reading our bullshit.

Well for those who were not there for the official briefing, how else are they to figure out how to handle the 'nested copies'? They will have to read the instructions for themselves, or ask a qualified brother to read it for them.

Come on guys, I think we are being a bit harsh on the 'celebrated Watchtower scholars'.

There was a time when the KM was called the Bulletin (and the Informant).

With all the detailed instructions for how to conduct yourself at the conventions repeated over and over every year, the WTS knows that even then, the "faithful" don't obey and hide under an anonymous state.

If they still assign cleaning by (book study) field service groups, then the brother in charge of the group can do the organizing.

As to hospitality for the public speaker, the chairman that day is responsible for seeing that is handled (at least in the congos I went to)

Reminding people to turn in their time

Accounts read any more before announcements done away with?

    *** km 10/08 p. 1 par. 4 New Congregation Meeting Schedule ***

Such announcements as field service arrangements, cleaning schedules, accounts reports, and routine letters from the branch office do not need to be read from the platform but will be posted on the information board for the brothers to read.

How many listen to the announcements anyway?

The announcements kinda seem to me as another little privilege that they can gift to a qualified brother. It is like a stepping stone to the Sunday chairman or instruction talk. It use to seem that way, it has changed a bit.
