Anthony Morris III aka the shoe maker. His delusions of grandeur come out in his talks, he sounds so arrogant, smug and self righteous.

I thought that Anthony was very open about his concern over the convincing power of some professor, over the Org.
What does it mean when a J-dub youth who has spend 18+ YEARS going to 5 meetings a week, preparing for those meetings, preparing and delivering talks, going in the ministry, doing personal study, Family Worship, D/C, SAD, CAs, etc. is convinced by a single professor teaching a single 12 week course?

I am not as familiar with this GB 2.0. I am an old GB 1.0 person.
Everyone says 'follow the money'. If that is true then it seems that those who control the money control the organization. Business managers, lawyers and any financial guys they've got.
Plus I bet like most big companies it takes on a life of its own and almost everyone is just swept along with the current. Especially with donations constantly coming in and not being dependent on sales of products to outsiders.

Anthony Morris III the humble shoemaker? That is just like saying Anthony Morris III the humble faith and discrete slave(aka:Governing Body member) it is an oxymoron). His idea of a shoemaker is alittle play on words and that is all. But if we would take him semi-literally he would not be a humble shoemake but a bossy one because he says "If the shoe fit you "have" to wear it" so perhaps he gives little attention to how the shoe looks of if it is in style but is mainly interested in makeing shoes that fit, and so wear it, is his advice, black and white thinking for sure with no middle ground or allowance for looks or functionality .
Kind of a self absorbed person that thinks he's always right is how he comes off in this anecdotal talk. I'm sure that his appointment to be a GB has further entrenched this view of himself and has made him even more of an authoritarian.

does he really call himself anthony morris the third

2+2=5
Yes he is Anthony Morris III, this is how it is written when he appears in the society's literature and DVDs. When I was waking up and researching the religion, I could not get over this guy. He is so repulsive to me I cannot express it in words.

Dog Patch,
Please elaborate if you will. What people pull the strings of the GB? Certain department heads? (Writing, service, etc.) I am so curious and I know that your inside knowledge always proves accurate. Thanks!

Awesome.
I didn't even bother watching the video. I figured if 2+2=5 is that repulsed by him i'd refrain (2+2=5, if you cannot express it in words, try vomiting. Better out than in...hahaha)
they are so full of themselves. as the first and last voice on everything they think the only options is to do what they say..."black and white thinking" is a matter of extremes. find a little balance.
I can, and often do, refuse to wear shoes.
In reply to the thread subject:
H ere is an illustration Lett used in our congregation when he was our Circuit overseer, 'The Kingdom Hall needs painting. The elders decide that, for as many as possible to participate, only 1" paintbrushes will be used. Now you and I both know that there are far more effective ways to involve everyone AND get the KH painted. Do we grumble and complain and gossip, spreading our opinion? Or do we go along with the decision the elders made? Remember, Jehovah doesn't care how the KH gets painted, but he does care about how you support the elders..." Ok, this is the gist of it. he went on and on...
All i can say is, back then I swallowed it whole. I now find that illustration both freaky AND controlling.

Fed,
One thing is very clear in that talk where Lett says Jehovah more concerned about obeying the elders uncomplaningly, than in seeing the most efficents way to paint the hall, even if the elders are all wacked out in their approach to the situation. says many things one that this Governing Body are under a delusion that they can read Jehovah's mind, and the illustration also enforce the thought to listen and obey not just elders but much more the Governing Body even if they come up with the wackiest ideas.
